A Chicago police officer is suing the city to change his race on his official records after the department said it would allow officers to freely change their gender to match their identity.
Mohammad Yusuf, 43, said in a federal civil rights lawsuit filed last week that he is looking to change from “Caucasian” as he “currently identifies as Egyptian and African American.” However, the Chicago Police Department is not allowing him to change his race. The lawsuit comes as the department allows an officer’s “gender identity [to be] corrected to match their lived experience,” Yusuf’s lawsuit alleges.

If the powers that be are going to accommodate a biological impossibility, they might as well be consistent and do the same for another biological (and genetic) impossibility.

FTA: According to the lawsuit, Yusuf alleges that he has been repeatedly overlooked for promotions due to his “Caucasian” race. These promotions, he claims, have been given to other minority applicants with only very few going to Caucasian applicants.
And there you have it, the real issue is white officers face discrimination. I don't blame him for playing the game, the anti-white rules preventing white officers from being promoted are in place are racist, but they won't change, not in this city.

"The lawsuit comes as the department allows an officer’s “gender identity [to be] corrected to match their lived experience,” Yusuf’s lawsuit alleges."
If he's being denied promotions for being Caucasian, that's his "lived experience." Why are those entitled to "correct" their gender from the one "assigned at birth" have an unlimited period of time to evaluate their lived experience? And how can his right to identify in the way genetic testing proves is correct be denied him? Follow the science ought to settle this once and for all.

Race is a made up thing, we are all human but some have more of certain gene traits than others. Its not like Gender in anyway.

Ahhh! Being absurd to show the absurdity. I hope his end game is to take and early retirement and move away from Chicago.
I work for a big box store. Once a month, there is a kids' event- with a cheap give-away. I got stuck monitoring it last month. Stuff for girls and stuff for boys. The manager came by. I told him that there was a problem. There wasn't anything for non-binary kids. (it's good to catch him off-guard.)

Lisa Halaby, the American-born woman who is now the widowed Queen Noor of Jordan, had grandparents who immigrated to the USA from Syria. About the time of WWI, her grandfather, Najeeb Elias Halaby, petitioned the US government to classify Arabs as "white". He argued that Jesus the Christ and the Moors who invaded Spain were historically considered white.
Similarly, many of Italian origin are equally olive-complexioned as Arabs. They are considered white.
For at least ten years, some have pressed to classify Egyptians and other Arabs as non-white.
Identity politics is motivated by the accurate perception of disparate treatment. It is not a merit-based way of thinking.

Interesting. How can you uphold one absurdity while striking down the other?
He may have shot himself in the foot by mentioning the lack of promotions. Judge may rule against him because of that being the true motivation.
