A federal judge on Thursday blocked a Texas law that would have empowered local and state law enforcement to arrest and deport illegal immigrants who cross the Southern border into the U.S.
The legislation, signed by Governor Greg Abbott in December, was set to take effect March 5. However, U.S. district judge David Ezra ruled that Senate Bill 4 violated the Constitution and prior legal precedent that gives the federal government the sole authority to enforce immigration laws and policies.
“To allow Texas to permanently supersede federal directives on the basis of an invasion would amount to nullification of federal law and authority — a notion that is antithetical to the Constitution

Hmm- when did illegal become protected class? And how does constitution cover law breaking and entering country prevent Law Enforcement from doing their sworn duty?

So a judge sworn to uphold the law decides in favor of lawlessness, crime, child trafficking, and outright chaos. Thanks a lot, your honor.

Can judges actually block a law passed by the state? Since when?

Why bother with laws when Libs only want to enforce laws they like. Criminals will be able to go free if they break the "right" laws. which of course, is happening now.

Texas should follow Biden’s example on student loans and announce that they’ve found a way around the ruling and keep arresting them anyway.

Drop off the next few busloads at HIS house. EVERY DAY. If he demands police protection I bet we can pay off a fed judge to deny that, too.
I wonder how much the biden admin or the NGO's paid him?

Interesting:
1.Judge David Ezra, was the longest sitting U.S. District Court Judge in Hawaii - 24 Years in that deep blue state.
2. In January 2013, at the very beginning of Obama's second term, Chief Justice John Roberts moved Ezra to the Western district of Texas. Coincidence?? Maybe... but Occam's Razor suggests that Roberts was leaning with the political wind of the moment.
3. Last Judge Ezra struck down Tex. HB 1181 that would have limited sexual content to 18 yrs of age or older.
4. Last fall Judge Extra ruled that Gov. Abbott's floating barrier violated federal law (which it does not, according to the US Constitution).
5. Judge Ezra is now presiding over United States v. Texas to SB 4 to empower Texas police officers to arrest illegal alien invaders.
(What an odd notion for a Federal Judge to agree with -- that police officers should arrest criminals caught in the act)
Considering all the above suggestive circumstances, I would respectfully suggest to Judge Roberts that perhaps Judge Ezra might have been better left in Hawaii. (Hawaii already lives musical designation as "Blur Hawaii" (About a "blue" as a state can get)

I doubt if this Sleaze Merchant has ever read the Constitution. More to the point, What is a State to do to when the treasonous garbage running the country abdicates their responsibility to enforce the law designed to protect the people? Texas ought to do it anyway and tell Ezra to go Eff himself!

If trespassing is merely legal 'migration', why are there political prisoners in D.C. dungeons for the crime of trespassing? Maybe they just felt like migrating to the Capitol hallways. They just wanted a better life! Post our southern border with 'No Trespassing' signs every 50 or 100 feet or whatever the law requires to make it enforceable.

Question: Is this another "JOC" (judge of color)? Or possibly a "FOC" (female of color). Because it seems like this country is getting totally JOCed and FOCed up.

If this is the Judge's decision, then the Judge should have also ordered the federal govt to immediately begin deporting illegal border jumpers from all 50 states - otherwise, the Judge is just exacerbating an already dire situation.

#15, I concur completely. Biden has ignored the SCOTUS on student loan theft. They said he can't; he does it anyway. The court has no enforcement mechanism except the actions of the executive branch of the federal government. Make them do it.

Sad...why do we allow liberal judges to destroy laws to favor illegals? The border should be shut down except for recognized ports of entry and EVERY person and truck should be vetted...so there would be long lines...who cares?? Bidet and the dems just want a larger voter pool to obstruct conservatives (Republicans)...it's time for this insanity to just stop!

If I were Governor Abott I'd ignore this ruling. Anyone whether they're a federal judge, head of a federal agency or the POTUS who stands against a sovereign state trying to protect its border from an invasion is a clear and present danger to that state's citizens. Therefore, like I said he should just ignore it. What's the judge going to do arrest him.
