Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Tuesday secured a major victory in his challenge to the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending package passed in 2022, with a court declaring that the bill was approved unconstitutionally.
President Joe Biden signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 in December of the prior year. The measure effectively set the federal budget for the year by wrapping the 12 annual appropriations bills into a single piece of legislation. Paxton, however, had argued that the House's passage of the measure was unconstitutional as less than half of the lower chamber's members were physically present to vote on it.

If Republicans had any fight in them they would be using this decision as a weapon unmercifully on the democrats and Rinos that cannot stop spending what we do not have. What is wrong with Republicans that they cannot see a political opportunity when it is right there in front of them? Hammer these spendthrifts with this decision. We have to stop spending like drunken sailors and attempt to reign in the spending and waste that is out of control. Is anyone even paying attention in the Republican Party?

As a nation we are either going to insist the folks sent to DC to conduct The People's business act in accordance with our Constitution, and the laws of our nation......
Or we're going to allow The Swamp to be our rulers.

U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Lubbock Division , not SCOTUS. And, like Old Hickory said: the court has made its decision; now let's see them enforce it.

The Constitution spells clearly states that TAX bills are to come from the lower Chamber of Congress, the House of Representatives. This is clearly not the case of the Demonrat Socialist Marxists efforts to DEFY the Rule of Law to get around this rewquirement. Simple for anyone who respects the Law.
This is in effect creating a need for more taxes to pay for it, just like they did with NoBamacare with that bill originiating in the Senate, but it did not have a Paxton to challenge it.
Taxation without representation to vote on it is TYRANNY-- throw those bums out!!

It seems to me that if someone is in violation of Constitutional Law they should be held personally responsible in some way. The article doesn't state any way the violation will be rectified because there is no way to do it, so the dims just go ahead and do what they want just like the "student forgiveness" illegality.

It would be helpful if there was some explanation of the ramifications of this! Or is this just an exercise that urges a physcial quorom to be in place.
Is there a clawback? Will inflation magically lower? Will the blood money and money laundering Overseas magically dissappear?
Why don't we just outlaw inflation? Maugabe' did that!
Is this all just Kabuki theatre?

This is regarding the 2022 budget. What, if anything, will be done about it? No point having a do over. Btw, the complaint was the House did not have a quorum when the budget was passed thus making it unconstitutional. What happened? Did half of the representatives walk out in opposition to the bill? All this shows is the criminals reside in government. The more people that realize that is a good thing. Watch the House pass a law saying no quorum required.

Kindly ask the Biden crime family to pay it back, first take it out of Joe's petty cash. Maybe Corn Pop has it in a mattress somewhere.

This decision is a test case. The government has two ways to respond. First, ignore it. If they do, then there is no enforcement mechanism to bring the court's finding to fruition. Second, appeal it. Use the appeals process to wind it towards the SCOTUS. If they choose option two, then we will see exactly what John Roberts is made of. If they choose option one, then take your pocket Constitution along on your next hike. You can use it as toilet paper, because it will have been rendered meaningless.
