Hunter Biden said he was either drunk or on drugs when he pretended his father was sitting next to him in a successful bid to persuade a Chinese company to pay the family $5.1 million, he told Congress today.
The president's son was giving closed door testimony to the Congressional impeachment inquiry into his father's business links today when he made the jaw-dropping admission.
'Hunter admitted that he was high or drunk when he sent the "sitting here with my father" WhatsApp message, sent it to the wrong recipient, and is now embarrassed by the message,' a readout of his testimony recorded.

Am I the only one who believes this investigation is a total waste of time? We all know what is going to happen. Hunter will lie, spin tall tales, refuse to answer and declare himself to be an innocent victim of an out of control white supremacist Republican Party intent upon vengeance. The media will eagerly repeat the claim and absolutely nothing will be done to hold this pampered reprobate accountable. Case closed.

As far as I am concerned, the video of Biden as VP bragging about getting the Ukrainian prosecutor fired is all the House needed to impeach him. All the focus on the drug addled son with a taste for non-black prostitutes and lots of rides on Air Force 2 (and now AF 1) is a distraction.

Hunter, you are still responsible for whatever you do or say when you are high and/or drunk.
Stop making excuses!

I feel sorry for Joe Biden. For here is Joe, willfully selling out his country to the Chinese Communists and Hunter doesn’t have the decency to be sober or cocaine free for a 15 minute influence peddling phone call. Because of Hunter’s selfishness, Joe was only able to get a lousy $5.1 million from the Chinese, or just $510,000 (10%) for his personal checking account. Won’t Jill be disappointed.
What Hunter’s admission is telling us is that Joe Biden’s shakedowns of foreign governments was so common that he didn’t have to take each one seriously. “Aw, Dad. Not another call today. I need some time for myself. And I hate repeating our bank account details over and over.”

That’s a new one. Instead of “the dog ate my homework” I should have explained that “I was high on booze and crack cocaine” to my teachers.

Hunter said he didn’t involve his Dad in his business. This begs the question, “Well then, how did your Dad become involved in your businesses?”
The Big Guy cannot stand trial because he is brain-addled and Hunter cannot be held responsible for anything because he was either drunk or high. Both have a built in excuse for their memory lapses and, of course, they can play the sympathy card whenever convenient.

The headline is deceptive. Rather than stating that Hunter "Admits to" being high or drunk, it should say that he "Claims that he was" high or drunk, since he is now asserting that Joe wasn't really sitting next to him when he sent the message.

How come no one among the republicans in Congress are not exploring how much of the rivers of corrupt cash flowing into the Biden Crime Syndicate coffers where also diverted into the greedy pockets of the Obama Crime Syndicate and of course the Clinton Crime Syndicate? Raise your hand if you truly believe that Bareback Obama and his She/He/it so-called wife were not aware that their stooge Vice President of their regime was raking in millions upon millions in bribes from our enemies. Remember they are both from Chicago where it is standard operating procedure to kick up a percentage of the money to the Boss.
Believe it that the Obamas were receiving their cut. Funny how no republican is not even trying to investigate this angle.

I’m with #4. When you put all this together the big time corruption flag goes up! You have to wonder how shaky the wimpy Republicans really are? Being drunk or high is not a defense to drunk driving, so how can it be any sort of legitimate defense to a big time international corruption conspiracy? Of which Hunter obviously was the “bagman” with old Joe being the “big guy” and the principle conspirator as “old Joe” is the only one of the known conspirators who had the political “go power” in the US Government to get done what the foreigners paying the millions of dollars wanted done to their favor. I watched on TV where it was said that during the closed door deposing of Hunter that the wimpy Republicans failed to ask Hunter just what he did or offered to do to squeeze the millions of dollars out of those foreign actors, you can’t beat that for investigative incompetence if that turns out to be true!

If the father can get away with being non compos mentis and avoiding prosecution (but manage to keep his office nonetheless), why shouldn't the son try that tactic? Decrepit drug addict Hunter can certainly claim to have been out of his mind during his extended time of whoring and drugging. When one is higher than balls on a giraffe, if one is a Democrat, one is blameless for that. It's a freebie. No harm, no foul. Nothing to see here. Move along, people.
