Virginia officials and the head of the FBI called on Thursday for the reversal of a decision to relocate the headquarters of America’s top law enforcement agency to suburban Maryland. They allege that the federal agency tasked with overseeing the relocation, the General Services Administration, which oversees federal real estate, failed to address what they said were conflicts of interest in the selection process. In an internal message to FBI employees on Thursday that was obtained by POLITICO, FBI Director Christopher Wray blasted the decision to move the agency to Greenbelt, Md., saying that a three-person panel made up of

Sorry. Too late.
Biden has already taken and hidden his bribe.
Maybe if the fine folks in Greenbelt buy lots of Hunter's painting, there will be a park (with an ice cream stand) for the locals.

Nome, Alaska a would be the best place.
There are no roads to Nome, a huge advantage for the country.

- what's wrong with that?

How about relocating it to Guam? Of course, constructing such a huge building may cause the island to tip over...

FTA—- a political appointee at the GSA chose the Greenbelt site, against the panel’s recommendation.
The GSA political appointee is Nina Albert, who worked for the Metropolitan Area Transit Authority from 2016 to 2021. The 61 acre Greenbelt site is owned by the Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
Nina Albert made a brief stopover at GSA, for her current job is District of Columbia’s acting deputy mayor for planning and economic development.
There was never a more obvious conflict of interest. But team Biden won’t have to answer for this travesty because the corrupt media enables them to operate with impunity.

One poster suggested Nome, Alaska. In a similar vein, there is a closed Air Force base at King Salmon, Alaska. Accessible by air all year, and by boat in the summer. Lots of good fishing and hunting, and not much else. That would make a great Stasi headquarters.

Just me opinion; The 'NEW' building should be out of the Washington area. the further away the better. Lots of reasonably priced land in many other parts of Central USofA

I have a better idea, since they are the liberal arm of the democrap party, just defund them....I'm sure there are still a few real cops in the lower ranks, but the top tier have become rotten and should be thrown out just like a rotten apple...

Best would be a centralized, convenient location. I recommend Diego Garcia.

These agencies should all be relocated to different cities in the country, so the lobbyists will find their work more difficult and the politicians will feel more free of their influence.

No reason not to move it to like Wyoming area. That's where everyone lives that they want to arrest:)
Remember a few years back they wanted to move the Department of the Interior to the middle of the US to pretty much where all their customers were. And the DC bureaucrats had a cow. Even though they knew that was biologically impossible.

Boo hoo!! That area is a rough place, and the Bureau deserves it. I'm in northern VA, and this is huge news here. Warner, Kaine and the locals are seething. I hope MD starts calling racism and that they prevail.

Don't move the FBI anywhere. Cut the budget and staffing and leave them where they are, "in the swamp."

Isn't there acres of building space in DC that is going unused? About 25% occupancy? Save our money and make them use all that open space.

Imagine the horror of all those liberal White Deep staters when the realize they will have to move to PG County and send their kids to ‘racial jungles’ as FJB called predominantly Black schools.
Biden just screwed over the very people who got him elected.

FBI HQ needs to be placed far away from the DC Beltway, far away. How about somewhere in the middle of our country? Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, Nebraska?

Northern Virginia or the suburbs of D.C. in Maryland, it's all the same. Everything within a 20-mile radius of the Capitol is D.C. territory. Traffic on I-95 south of D.C. is all government related in one way or another halfway down to Richmond. It's not much different going north on I-95 up to Laural Md.

The General Service Administration has reported to Congress that half of federal buildings are not occupied, as half of federal employees are working from home. That is a lot of empty space that the FBI could use. The FBI staffing should be halved, as they are into everything and everywhere, and have become a state police force. Law enforcement responsibilities should be returned to the state and local authorities.
