Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has expressed a cautious approach towards the impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden.
During a closed-door meeting with House GOP moderates, Johnson highlighted the lack of sufficient evidence at present to begin formal impeachment proceedings, according to the Washington Post.
This sentiment was echoed by Representative Don Bacon (R-NE), who summarized Johnson’s stance, noting that even a single Democratic vote is unattainable at this point.
“We’ll just go where the evidence goes and we’re not there yet,” said Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.), recapitulating Johnson’s remarks about the inquiry.

I think the people are being played big time, they keep tossing out tidbits of information from investigations of all Biden's wrong doings, saying how they want to impeach Biden, making formal requests etc...
I don't think they have any intention of impeaching him, they are buying time until the next election and he is either out of office or they no longer are in control of the House.

Democrats will not vote for impeachment unless it’s to save their own election chances or if the voters turn against Biden by massive majorities.

Politically, is impeachment a good move? I doubt it. I'm not sure the 32 impeachments of Trump were a good move for the Dims. I know, rules for us, none for the Dims. Of course, the Dims play a big game perhaps, creating a national atmosphere of insanity in which anything goes.
I have no idea what the political perception/will/thinking in this country is. In sane times, impeaching a president this close to an election would undoubtedly be a nonstarter.
But saying there is insufficient evidence? Why not just say let the voters decide?

Well then continue with your efforts to outlaw racist state birds.
You know, something that will improve our lives. Seems to be a historical pattern that all governments eventually disintegrate.

Seriously, what good is Congress, both chambers? They don't pass any legislation of any importance to us having ceded that responsibility to the Administrative State and the Courts. They just talk, and write strongly worded letters and talk...Biden keeps issuing new policies by Executive Orders so who need Congress anymore?

This is why I, as a Republican, loathe the Republican party. After all the saber rattling, they either do NOT have evidence or a case and it's all bull puckery, OR - the have evidence but lack testicles. No wonder they fear Trump, and we the People want him back. We had a taste...

And yet, democrats will indict an innocent man because they just don’t like him. I understand the reasoning behind Speaker Johnson’s statement. He knows the evidence must be overwhelming in order to bring impeachment against Crooked Joe when democrats bring innuendo and speculation. This is the vast divide in this country. Half the country is lawless and the other half plays by the rules. Unfortunately, we will remain behind the eight ball until republicans have the courage to take on these criminals.
Most of us know the Biden’s will never pay for their crimes. That’s a given unfortunately. However, what republicans can do is fight for election integrity. Without that, we’re done and I do not see much urgency to address all the evidence that is out there that democrats are stealing our votes. Whether Joe continues his reign of terror or not will rely on a secure election process. Does anyone feel confident about that? Yeah, I thought so.
My advice is if you can’t get Biden go after the process that illegitimately put him in office because they intend to do it again in 2024.

Remember, the real trial is in the court of public opinion. I’m glad he’s moving cautiously. He’d be a fool to jump the gun and end up making this look like it’s just a political ploy or payback for what the Dems did impeaching President Trump. Judging from other news, he and the leadership are being as thorough as possible so that they can put together an ironclad case. Then, whatever the vote may be, Biden will be seen by the public for the greedy traitor he really is.

You impeach a President who is strong and a threat to your next election. You don’t impeach a President when they are destroying their own parties’ chances in the next election.

Perhaps half of Republican politicians are principled and committed to representative government. Perhaps 99% of Democrats are committed to whatever position they are told to support. They sick together like a beeswax toilet bowl seal. A rapidly shrinking half of the population believe in or have any concept other than personal interest of the moment.

Impeachment is not going to happen and Johnson knows it.
No way in hell would he even get one democrat vote for impeachment.
Even though even the democrats are starting to wake up to the fact that the Biden - Obama regime is destroying America.
Fact is most of them seem to be in favor of that destruction.
I can hope for the return of Donald trump , and maybe then something can be done about Biden--since the democrats going after Trump have made it no longer wrong to go after an ex-President, but even that possibilities chances are slim and none

It would take 6 months to get an impeachment done, and maybe the Republicans would prefer to have Biden on the ballot. Joe Biden at a presidential debate is going to be a huge disaster.

The evidence is overwhelming now, has been for a long time but will Never be enough for the Democrats in Senate to run a fair and honest trial. I do believe it is best to gather all the evidence they can and use it in the 2024 election.

After all of the hype of replacing McCarthy with Johnson, it's blame rank-and-file Republicans time, while giving Johnson a pass for doing as McCarthy already suggested. It's not just democrats working to destroy the Republican Party, it appears.

You have to ask yourself what would be accomplished by impeachment Biden. With the Senate under Democrst control it would NOT get him removed from office, and even if it did, President Kamela is another nightmare waiting to happen. A lot of Biden's dirty laundry is already out, and if he is the nominee Republicans should make sure more continues to drip out all the way to November.

I am giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. Comer and Jordan are still digging. If they come up with proof of bribe taking, then impeach Biden. Even if the Senate protects him, the voters can see the evidence. Circumstantial evidence is not going to cut it. That being said, the voters gave the Republican party two years to run the House. One year is almost gone. Time is running out.

Government has become so bloated that, of course, Speaker Johnson thinks there is insufficient evidence. Government has lost their way because they are so big and there are NO checks and balances. I have seen two articles about Ronna McDaniel. This is the very reason why I think she is ineffective and we need someone stronger. At this level, there are no checks and balances either.
