California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has hit an all-time low approval rating of 44%, according to a new poll by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies and the Los Angeles Times. The Times reported Tuesday: Gov. Gavin Newsom’s standing among California voters has hit an all-time low, with 49% disapproving of his performance as governor, according to a new UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Times. The survey showed Newsom’s popularity has tumbled this year as he continues to amplify his national profile and campaign outside of the Golden State to support President

Comments:

And I assume a poll from Berkeley and the LA Times put the best possible spin on his numbers.

Whenever I see Gavin, the word sleazy comes to mind. He’s a wannabe dictator with no regard for ordinary citizens. My guess is he can be bought, easily. His attempt at a GQ pic at the Great Wall of China was embarrassing and a true picture of a narcissistic low life lusting after power. After destroying California, he should never be allowed anywhere near the White House. Gavin is dangerous.

There are 22 million registered voters in California. Considering the idiocy of the average nitwit there, fraud and illegal votes, I would expect that greaseball to get at least 18 million votes. (Most of them from fraud and illegals.) Must be maddening to be a Republican in that hellhole.

Unfortunately, it won't matter to the public employees in the state. They will vote for the Democrat regardless of how they might otherwise vote. The Democrats promise more spending, increased wages, benefits and pensions. My BIL was law enforcement and very conservative, but voted for the Dems every year until he retired with his six-figure pension at 55 years old. Will be interesting, however, now that abortion is enshrined in the State Constitution, if women, in particular realize they don't have to be afraid that "right" could be taken away at any time any longer. GOP should make sure they remind voters of that fact, and maybe it will allow Christian voters to vote Republican now that there is nothing that can be done at the State level any longer

Newsom will probably run in the Democrat presidential primary based on the fact that his approval rating is higher than Biden’s. It all goes to show that the stable of good Democrat candidates is bare.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Northern District of California courthouse where David DePape will stand trial this week is unfriendly territory. The conspiracy-obsessed man charged in the hammer attack on the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in their hilltop mansion faces decades in prison. The trial venue is two miles from the couple’s home, in a courthouse named for the longtime congressperson’s mentor and in a city where she won her last election with overwhelming support. “Nancy Pelosi is a loved and revered public servant in San Francisco,” noted Valery Nechay, a local criminal trial attorney who is following

CHICAGO — Sophee Langerman was on her way to a bicycle safety rally in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood in June when a car turning right rolled through a red light and slammed into her bike, which she was walking off the curb and into the crosswalk. The car was moving slowly enough that Langerman escaped serious injury, but the bicycle required extensive repairs. Next week's off-year elections could provide a preview of 2024 for President Joe Biden, regardless of whether he faces former President Donald Trump in 12 months. Besides Gov. Andy Beshear's (D-KY) gubernatorial campaign, Ohio's abortion referendum, and Pennsylvania's state Supreme Court race, it is Virginia's general assembly elections that could prove to be the most predictive for next year. That is because of their potential to be an indictment on Biden's presidency amid speculation Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) is considering a last-minute bid for the Republican nomination — and there are no plans for the incumbent to stump there. Biden appearing
