Electric vehicles sure do seem safe and effective. Or am I mixing my propaganda? According to social media user Xian Ke, a Google-operated electric bus suffered a power loss on Monday morning while attempting to scale one of San Francisco’s many hills. The out-of-control bus then rolled down the hill and crashed into nine vehicles. Monday on X, formerly Twitter, Ke posted a 10-second clip of the crash’s aftermath. (Snip) “Some local journalists need to be on this: ‘A google bus lost its power while going up the hill and roll back and hit 9 cars this morning outside of

Well, knock me down. EVs are impractical AND dangerous. At least it didn't start another San Francisco fire.

If I recall correctly those buses are business shuttles for Google employees, which the City may have required to accept non-Google passengers as a condition of getting their license to use city bus / taxi lanes and public bus stops. The defendant should be Alphabet, whether or not the City shares their liability.

I know Kamel A loves electric buses almost as much as Venn diagrams. And you can stand behind them without getting fumes in your face, even if they roll down hill backwards.

Was the tow truck for the bus powered by electricity?

Can you imagine a big electric semi truck, loaded with flammable something or other trying to climb an icy mountain road or anywhere in a city or town with hilly roads? Ninety-nine percent of us knew right off this wouldn't work, but the other 1% pushed it anyway.

My personal choice for an EV will be the Air Force One presidential ride. Solar power will be the booster, electricity will be the go-juice. Comedy will be the outcome.

I lived in SF, runaway busses, trucks(including firetrucks) have always been a Thing. Back before EVERY car had an automatic transmission, there were plenty of "Clutch went out" runaways as well. also failed parking brakes that lead to runaway empty cars. Curbs there are taller than other cities and "Curbing your wheels" is taught to every new diver...and newcomer.

Yep, electric vehicles are a bad, distasteful, expensive joke. Did I mention that they were really expensive?

It’s a metaphor for the EV industry: Roll backwards and crash.

So: It lost Power. Did it lose it's brakes too, or are the brakes need electrical power to work. If so these things are dangerous.

Loud and dimwitted SF mayor London Breed will blame this on either global warming or Republicans notably PDJT.

I hate to think of the horrible carnage if the exit doors are electrically operated and this contraption had caught fire in the bargain as these EV thingies seem accustomed to do.
