This popped up at the NY Times Thursday but I didn’t see it until this morning. It has long been considered a truism that voters move right as they age. But as Nate Cohn points out, there had recently been some studies disputing that claim: Political folklore has long held that voters become more conservative as they get older. But it is nonetheless at odds with a wave of recent reports or studies suggesting otherwise. Some college graduates are suggesting there should be a general boycott on repaying student loans, once the current federal loan payment pause ends in the summer. The debt ceiling deal agreed between President Biden and Speaker Kevin McCarthy says the pause, initially introduced as a temporary measure during the coronavirus pandemic, will "cease to be effective" from 60 days after June 30. With his latest big win secured, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is moving into rare space. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich just declared, “Speaker McCarthy has already begun an historic speakership.” Today, Rasmussen Reports put McCarthy on the throne of public approval. He now has a 50% favorable rating, higher than former Speaker Nancy Pelosi reached in her second stint in the top job, according to a YouGov polling timeline for her. And many have declared her one of the greatest House speakers. McCarthy, who had to fight through over a dozen ballots to win the top House job, has reached his new high on the success of

The official U.S. Navy Instagram and Twitter accounts have seemingly removed posts that celebrated the commencement of “Pride Month.” On Thursday, the first day of June “Pride Month,” the Navy’s social media accounts featured a graphic displaying military vessels and a fighter jet leaving a trail behind in the rainbow colors of the LGBTQ flag, but by Friday morning, the image had disappeared. This action is part of the Pentagon’s recent efforts to steer clear of cultural controversies, as top Defense officials recently moved to prohibit drag performances on all military installations. This week, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley intervened

Some have said that "woke" is a virus of the mind that affects the ability to understand and interact with reality. Jack Posobiec recently spoke at the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) in Budapest, Hungary, where he explained how being woke "fundamentally subverts one's ability to function and engage with reality in a meaningful and authentic way." People infected with wokeness blame racism, white supremacy, homophobes, misogyny, religion, climate change, capitalism, etc. when things don't go their way.

As nearly every standardized test is showing, our schools are doing an abysmal job teaching kids how to read or do math. In some cases, kids graduating from high school can barely read their diplomas. But the schools are wildly succeeding with their climate change indoctrination program. When I speak to kids on high school and college campuses and ask what the greatest threat is to their generation, the answer isn’t China’s aggression. It isn’t a drug abuse problem that is becoming the leading killer of our children. It isn’t the failed schools or the corrupt government or the more routine violations of freedom of speech. It isn’t the $32 trillion

Fort Bragg, one of the largest military installations in the world, was renamed as Fort Liberty on Friday, dropping its Confederate namesake once and for all. It is the largest Army base by population to be renamed so far with around 29,000 people serving on the North Carolina base. A ceremony took place in which some veterans said agreed was a small but important step in making the U.S. Army more welcoming to current and prospective black service members. The North Carolina base was originally known as Camp Bragg and named in 1918 for Gen. Over-one third of Democrats disagree with laws protecting children from “sex-change” surgery, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday found. The survey asked respondents if they approve or disapprove of legislation making it illegal to perform sex-change surgeries on minors. Overall, 62 percent at least somewhat approve of those laws, and of those, 46 percent “strongly” approve. Another 30 percent at least somewhat disapprove, but that figure is even higher among Democrats, specifically, as 35 percent at least somewhat disapprove of laws preventing children from mutilating their bodies in the name of “gender-affirmation.”

This week Smith said during his eponymous podcast that he “had no choice” but to talk about it. Lamenting the high number of shootings in Chicago over the long Memorial Day Weekend, Smith had a question for the black community: “When are we going to look at ourselves when it comes to black people being killed in the streets of America?”Smith is right to be angry. Over the long holiday weekend, fifty-three Americans were indeed shot in Chicago alone.

Several thousand illegal migrants protested in Florida’s streets against Gov. Ron DeSantis’s state law that may shrink illegal immigration to the state. The strikers’ hope for a massive, economy-jarring, state-wide “walkout” failed because the hard-working, wage-cutting illegal aliens are not critical to any section of the U.S. economy, except the fruit-growing sector. Perhaps 10,000 illegal aliens — including many family members — turned out for the June 1 “Day Without Immigrants” protest. Most of the turnout took place in the Immokalee agriculture district where farmers prefer cheap and disposable workers over U.S-built, labor-saving harvesting machines. Many of the illegal migrants waived their home-country flags: [video] Some businesses supported the protest,
