Some college graduates are suggesting there should be a general boycott on repaying student loans, once the current federal loan payment pause ends in the summer. The debt ceiling deal agreed between President Biden and Speaker Kevin McCarthy says the pause, initially introduced as a temporary measure during the coronavirus pandemic, will "cease to be effective" from 60 days after June 30. (Snip) Some graduates responded with anger after hearing the pause would be ending, with a number even suggesting a payment boycott on social media. A better strategy would be for students to refuse to take out student loans. Reject colleges that offer loans as financial aid. There are many state schools that are affordable and "elite" schools generally can afford to give grants or scholarships.

I know some who have loans. Finally their wages were garnished. But only after 15 years. And then the garnishment got turned off. I don't think any of them has made a dozen payments since 2000.

They will have a problem when they apply for a mortgage, but perhaps they will still be living in their parents basement.

The 'gimmedats' of the something-for-nothing mob say they won't abide by their legal contracts. They will march off the cliffs into foreclosures, liens, attachments, garnishments, zero credit scores, and everything else that goes with their tantrums. They all need to wear signs declaring "I am a stupid college graduate deadbeat." Future college students will thank them when no student loans will be available.

Here is a plan. If students refuse to pay, put them on chain gangs at $5 an hour. Release them when the debt is fully paid with interest.

Not paying back their loans deliberately is stealing and should go on the persons record. When they look for a job, a potential employer will see that the candidate is a deadbeat and has morality issues. If they have any sense, the employer will take a pass on the person.

OK, we will play along and refuse to pay any of our taxes. See how your life changes then.

Just go after them. Make sure that interest and penaltiies accrue. They will get the picture.
Remind them of the loan agreements they signed.

Despite what you have been told you are not all that special. It is YOUR debt you pay it. I need a new car, are you going to pay my loan? I didn't think so. Grow up, suck it up and act like an adult. Whiny brats. If you want to study tranny/lesbian/homosexual poetry go ahead but don't ask me to pay for it.

Many, if not most, probably have parents as co-signers, no? So then what happens?
Maybe I don't understand the current method of applying for student loans. If so, I'd appreciate any clarification.

One twitter genius wrote, "No repayment without equal financial burden across the country."
What does that even mean? That those who repaid their loans (ALL their loans) as agreed should now be punished for the amusement and benefit of a bunch of irresponsible slugs? Here's a thought: debtor's prison 2023—week-ends in jail until an attitude adjustment takes place.

So the threat to default. Apparently these forward thinkers are unaware of what default looks like to their futures. The damage starts immediately with their cost of insurance, then later with employability, security clearances, costs to borrow money…and is forever plus 7;years.
And for what? AOC has debts and a Tesla. She wants the debts paid by me so she can keep the Tesla. No way. I pad my school debts, painful as it was…others can too.

The Federal Communist Government is continuously expanding and has an insatiable appetite for swallowing everyone's wealth. These dumb ass students are learning that their beloved benevolent government will in the end go after anyone who owes them money including these students who are now monetary slaves to the communist democrats. Their degrees they are also finding out are worthless especially when the Great Depression descends on all of us. By the way all these global, communist billionaires will also be fair game when the time comes. The communist death democrats are secretly salivating on confiscating all those trillions being held by the like of the execrable Gates, Zuckerberg, Theil, Bezos, Black Rock, etc. These so called genius billionaires are riding the communist democrat tiger and don't even realize that some day soon, that communist Tiger will run out of money and will eat them alive.

Many workers without college educations have been paying taxes on their income providing the money that financed the student loans. When they took out a loan they were required to pay it back. These deadbeat “students” need to be require to pay their loans back with full interest. They have already been given a 3 year break that the workers never got. If they refuse to pay, they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and given a criminal record.
