An Arkansas thug who tried to victimize an out-of-town family during their Memorial Day visit to Little Rock got more than he bargained for when an armed mom reacted to being attacked in a parking garage by fighting back, with the pregnant mom pulling a gun and shooting the attacker.
The incident went down at a River Market public garage when the family was packing up after spending the day celebrating the birthday of a seven-year-old girl. They were confronted by the criminal who assaulted them, striking the father several times as he was loading a wagon onto the top of the vehicle.

This should happen on daily basis to other attackers and looters.

And of course the perp will be considered as the victim and victims will be labeled as criminals. That is the world we live in today. Thank God the mom was carrying and new how to us it.

For those who haven't been paying attention, criminals don't abide by laws. Pass as many new laws as you want, and criminals will ignore them. Everyone should know by now that even violent criminals are not being punished sufficiently for their crimes; criminals have little to fear from "the law" especially in blue states and cities. If the law doesn't slow criminals down, what might? I would maintain that the risk of getting shot by his victim is something a robber does not want face. If enough guns are in friendly, trained hands, crime could get quite risky for perpetrators. If enough criminals conclude that, yes, they're likely to get shot by an alert victim, and that they might die from that shooting, some might be convinced to change their ways. Force is what the bad people understand. And a gun in a friendly hand is force.
One other thing: Some people like this Markevious fellow just deserve to be shot. When that happens, it's not a tragedy. If he dies, he purchased his ticket when he attacked that family. Good shooting, Mom!

A perfect example that in times of peril, it is better to have a firearm in your hand than a cell-phone connected to the police department.

Markevious King had been sentenced to 10 years in prison back in 2017. Unfortunately for everyone he didn't serve the full 10 years. This is one of the things that happens when the government doesn't protect the citizens.

Name your kid that, and you might as well go ahead and make a reservation at the penitentiary as soon as he is born.

11 makes the point for self defense. Can’t count on police or government to defend your family. When citizens refuse to become victims of rampant lawlessness and act as this woman did, there will be much less crime. I am on yellow alert at all times at home, church, & out in the public. We should all be.

Good for the Mom for being prepared to protect her family. Dad seemed pretty calm about it. Maybe because of this: “We live in Memphis and this kind of happens to people here all the time."
Sad that the country has come to this. Yet the people keep electing Democrats.

Well done. And note that the father said that the family was from Memphis and "this sort of thing happens all the time there".
So, they were ready for it.

Never assume you won't be attacked because it's daytime, or the area is 'usually safe'. It may be only once that you need the pistol you left at home.

I was surprised that the news article did not say "...the suspect was not immediately identified." This is common in Associated Press stories and local news outlets. We know the reason, don't we!
