Thursday included a series of grassroots-style stops where the former president shook hands, took questions from the crowd and engaged in the retail politics Iowa is known for. During a campaign event in Grimes, Trump told KCCI Chief Political Reporter Amanda Rooker he has "total support" from Iowa faith leaders. The former president met with dozens of local pastors for a private lunch Thursday afternoon. "They were very thankful for what I've done with Roe v. Wade, obviously, and give me total support. Jay Johnston, a voice actor for the animated television show Bob’s Burgers, was arrested and charged Wednesday for his participation in the January 6, 2021 riot on Capitol Hill. He was benched by that show in December 2021 when his participation in the actions of that day became known. He was the voice of Jimmy Pesto on the show.
