DES MOINES, Iowa — Former President Donald Trump returned to Iowa this week for a campaign swing focused on rallying his base. Thursday included a series of grassroots-style stops where the former president shook hands, took questions from the crowd and engaged in the retail politics Iowa is known for. During a campaign event in Grimes, Trump told KCCI Chief Political Reporter Amanda Rooker he has "total support" from Iowa faith leaders. The former president met with dozens of local pastors for a private lunch Thursday afternoon. "They were very thankful for what I've done with Roe v. Wade, obviously, and give me total support. We have a real love fest

Trump and DeSantos need to join forces and run on the same strong ticket then there will be 3 terms instead of just one or two. They can join to turn the nation back into the leader of a free world that we sorely need at this point. I think most of us dread the infighting that republicans seem to get themselves embroiled in. We can only hope that neither one of these fine leaders are too bruised during this campaign. It will not be a good thing for the nation or the world for that matter.

Like poster # 1 I dread a bloody and protracted primary battle, with neither DJT nor RDS quite strong enough to knock the other out. This Floridian had hoped that Governor Ron would sit out 2024. But now that he's in we are going to have to wrestle with that old boogie man called "electability". Outside of precincts like Lucianne Trump fatigue is pervasive in the country and most voters will be looking for new faces, Running on the same ticket? That will never happen, and it's just as well. The two men are incompatible, and people don't vote for vice presidents.

Not sure what part of the country you’re talking about, #2. Perhaps some statistics from a reliable source to back up your statement?

No particular part of the country, # 3. And statistics mean nothing at this stage of the game. Just a general sense of the mood out there. People don't want either the drama that comes with Trump or the semi-senile and cynical self service that comes with Biden.

The recruiting crisis within the U.S. military is a very real thing, and while senior military leaders and “military experts” have been putting the blame squarely on young people, all signs point to the bigger issue boiling down primarily to one thing: the federal government’s dangerous obsession with all things woke. And when I say “dangerous,” I’m not engaging in hyperbole. My RedState colleague streiff explained it well in a recent post: The fact is that the military has become a hostile work environment for straight, white, conservative males who have historically been the demographic most likely to enlist. The Air Force has said it has too many white pilots,

Elizabeth wrote yesterday about taking seriously the presidential candidacy of Cornel West, and while no one thinks West will actually gain many votes, the memory of Ralph Nader’s 95,000 votes in Florida in the 2000 election still haunts the memories of Democrats. (By the way, since Cornel West has put out his own rap CDs, clearly his running mate should be the other West who has made noises about running for president—Kanye West. The ticket/bumper sticker could be “West2.“) Clearly the left is worried about West, too. MSNBC is out with an attack on West claiming that he is . . . a conservative! Despite the best efforts of the media and the White House to promote a liberal agenda on issues from abortion to gender change, America has turned back to being more conservative. Gallup’s latest Values and Beliefs Survey said that conservatives top liberals on social policies and the economy, the two biggest topics America is grappling with. “For most of the past eight years, Americans were about as likely to say they were liberal as conservative on social issues. This year, there is a more obvious conservative advantage,” said the nation’s biggest pollster on Thursday. “The shift is mostly due to increasing social conservatism among Republicans

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a surprising ruling in favor of Black voters in a congressional redistricting case, ordering the creation of a second district with a large Black population. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh joined with the court's liberals in affirming a lower-court ruling that found a likely violation of the Voting Rights Act in an Alabama congressional map with one majority Black seat out of seven congressional districts in a state where more than one in four residents is Black. The case had been closely watched for its potential to weaken the landmark voting rights law.

The latest Twitter Files suggest the FBI helped Ukrainian intelligence in an effort to encourage Twitter to censor users, even American journalists. The Grayzone News host Aaron Maté unleashed the latest installment of The Twitter Files on June 7 in a thread that Twitter Files journalist Matt Taibbi called “perhaps the most damning about the FBI.” Maté reported the evidence, both on Twitter and Substack: “The FBI aided a Ukrainian intelligence effort to ban Twitter users and collect their data, leaks reveal. Twitter declined to censor journalists targeted by Ukraine, including Aaron Maté.” This newly released evidence once again implicates the U.S. government in an anti-free speech censorship plot

Burgum’s announcement came in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, where he was critical about the lack of “economic vision” in President Joe Biden’s campaign announcement video. “We need a change in the White House. We need a new leader for a changing economy. That’s why I’m announcing my run for president today,” added Burgum, who is also hosting his launch event on Wednesday.

On his 64th birthday, Pence, the former Indiana governor and six-term congressman, released a launch video taking whacks at President Joe Biden by name and Trump by implication. "President Joe Biden and the radical left have weakened America at home and abroad," Pence says in a self-narrated 2½-minute montage of Americana. "We can turn this country around. But different times call for different leadership." Turning more squarely toward the oft-spiteful Trump, Pence adds, "Today, our party and our

A huge fight broke out outside the Glendale School Board meeting in Los Angeles as parents, many of them from the Armenian-American community, came to protest the school’s pride events. Naturally, the left-wing zealots—read “Antifa”—showed up in force, and as you will see, some serious punches were thrown on both sides. A heavy police presence attempted to stop the fighting, violently pulling apart combatants to prevent serious injury. Someone with a bullhorn shouts, “Do not engage! Step away. We are not here to fight!” Maybe that person wasn’t there to fight, but plenty of other people were. One man wearing a black helmet seems to stagger into the arms of policemen

When Trump burst on the political scene, his smashmouth style was, shall we say, off-putting. Dan Bongino, also from Queens, told us this was just the normal style of speech in that area. And many of us voted for the Donald, knowing that the alternative was simply intolerable. We weren’t sure what he would do, but his opponent was guaranteed to do bad things. For four years, in the face of relentless false attacks, Donald Trump got things done. Lots of things. But he didn’t drain the swamp.
