Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is now expected to attend the G7 summit in Hiroshima in person, where he is likely to make asks for additional military aid.
Zelensky's participation has been rumored for days and comes as G7 leaders plan to announce a new round of tough economic sanctions on Russia in an attempt to cripple Vladimir Putin to the point where he could end the war in Ukraine. The Financial Times first confirmed Zelensky would make the trip to Japan, reporting that he would be engaged in meetings on Sunday. On Thursday, news broke that Disney had canceled an office complex project that was set to add 2,000 jobs to Florida’s economy. That was the headline at least. Of course, there was more to the story.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) job approval has soared 18 points since becoming Speaker of the House earlier this year, according to the latest Economist/YouGov poll.
The poll found that McCarthy has a job approval rating of a positive ten as Speaker of the House, which is up 18 points since the end of last year (December 17-20), when he was still House minority leader — the month before he was elected Speaker.
