The FBI has a surveillance tool that it can use to deal with foreign intelligence questions. The tool is supposed to be used

President Joe Biden and Jill Biden needed a little guidance Friday morning when they fumbled around during a photo-op, getting turned around as they tried to find their spot. Japanese Prime Minister Kishida stepeped in to direct them as the first couple posed with him and his wife Yuko during the first day of the G7 summit in Hiroshima. Biden, 80, and the first lady were joining other G7 leaders Friday morning for a tour of Hiroshima's Peace Park and Memorial Museum.

House Republicans’ premier investigative panel refuted numerous claims Thursday that the FBI made in a letter about its decision to revoke the security clearances of three individuals who had approached Congress with allegations of misconduct within the bureau. The Weaponization of the Federal Government Select Subcommittee said Marcus Allen and Steve Friend, whose security clearances were suspended by the FBI and later revoked, were retaliated against for speaking out about their concerns that the bureau had become politicized against conservatives.

There are powerful parallels in the 1961 movie "The Hustler," the 1913 U.S. Open, and the current debt ceiling negotiation. Let me explain. In each case, there is a real question of which competitor is going to succumb to the pressure and break. In "The Hustler," Paul Newman plays Eddie Felton, a young pool shark who takes on the greatest pool player of his time, Minnesota Fats (played brilliantly by Jackie Gleason). A great deal of money is involved, with the champion being backed by several big money guys. They are equally good pool players, but Gleason’s character is confident, and Newman’s character is insecure.

The most recent liberal ABC News/Washington Post poll showed President Joe Biden's approval rating at 36 percent - the lowest in history for a president at this point in his first term. Biden's low popularity is no mystery. He inherited energy independence, affordable gas prices, historically low interest rates, low inflation, calm overseas, a low crime rate, and a largely closed border with legal-only immigration. And then Biden destroyed that inheritance. He has begged illiberal foreign governments to pump oil he refuses to drill domestically for. He spiked inflation at the highest rate in over 40 years. Home interest rates have skyrocketed from less than 3% to 7%. He nearly doubled the price of gasoline.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is now expected to attend the G7 summit in Hiroshima in person, where he is likely to make asks for additional military aid. Zelensky's participation has been rumored for days and comes as G7 leaders plan to announce a new round of tough economic sanctions on Russia in an attempt to cripple Vladimir Putin to the point where he could end the war in Ukraine. The Financial Times first confirmed Zelensky would make the trip to Japan, reporting that he would be engaged in meetings on Sunday. The report said Zelensky would attempt to shore up support with non-G7 countries

On Thursday, news broke that Disney had canceled an office complex project that was set to add 2,000 jobs to Florida’s economy. That was the headline at least. Of course, there was more to the story. In reality, the project had been placed on hold back in 2021 and postponed to 2026 due to various financial concerns. When current CEO Bog Iger took back over the beleaguered entertainment company, that was the final nail in the coffin because he long thought the entire project was a terrible investment. Obviously, he’s right, as building large office buildings post-COVID is like setting money on fire. The fact that Disney has been hemorrhaging money

Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) job approval has soared 18 points since becoming Speaker of the House earlier this year, according to the latest Economist/YouGov poll. The poll found that McCarthy has a job approval rating of a positive ten as Speaker of the House, which is up 18 points since the end of last year (December 17-20), when he was still House minority leader — the month before he was elected Speaker. Forty-six percent of the respondents said they strongly or somewhat approved of McCarthy’s handling his job as the Speaker of the House when asked by the pollsters. In comparison, only 36 percent said they disapproved, and 19 percent
