China thumbs its nose at the climate cult

While Joe Biden is jawboning with G7 leaders in Japan, the China-Central Asia Summit is underway in Xi’an today. Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the conference today with a speech that Western leaders and the rest of the world should be paying attention to. Xi is looking to firm up China’s ties with Central Asian nations such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. This is part of his nation’s Belt and Road initiative, designed to expand China’s economic and military influence as part of a challenge to American global hegemony. But one major part of this announcement should be pointed out to the climate cult

If China had installed a puppet government in the United States to destroy our economy they couldn't do a better job than what the Democrats are doing. So, maybe China did.

But our geniuses think we should dump tens of TRillions! of our dollars into questionable climate moves, with negligible results onto a non-existent support grid - that no other country (read China and India) intends to copy - why? Because WE HAVE to START. That's why.

More evidence that the "climate change" cult has become a de facto religion for the green leftists in Europe and now, in the USA. And the taxpayers are expected to fund this new religion's tenets. It may not be a "church," but the Left is supporting its articles of faith. This is one reason the founders wanted Church and State to be kept separate, one from the other. It is as odious for the "Church" to impose its will upon the State as for the State to impose its will upon the Church.

Perhaps this is one area we should emulate China. No doubt climate change is being used as a weapon to destroy the United States, and we should be moving away from green policies.

One fourth of the human population which is rapidly INCREASING it's use of oil, coal and natural gas is telling the climate cult lunatics to drop dead. And our population, representing about 4% of the world's population is supposed to wreck our economy, get rid of normal cars for ridiculously impractical and unaffordable electric toys, triple and quadruple our cost of electricity, abandon air conditioning, abandon meat and eat bugs....while the rest of the planet laughs and points at the idiots in the USA. Not going to do it, and not going to support these lunatic climate cultists.

First, the Paris Accords had a target date to meet the goals and objectives of 2100, or 77 years from now. Second, recent Congressional testimony mentioned if the United States goes to zero-net emissions, but China does not do anything would the world meet the goals? The answer was no. The climate zealots must think China and India are stupid, that they don't have any smart people, can't read graphs. Or, they know the West is being fed a bunch of crap, but willing to let them self-destruct. What people need to realize, the climate issue is almost all about pollution, and using the issue to clean up the air and water more than it's about anything else. Of course they're never okay with 85% reduction, as they are dead set on zero-emissions as the goal. This last bit is the most expensive to achieve and results in dramatic changes. The two points of focus for the climate zealots are the CO2 level (our air has only 4% carbon dioxide) which they are afraid is increasing to levels from millions of years ago, and the temperature level.

Re #10 your are WAY off with "4%" CO2. 4% is 100 times what we actually have. The correct number is 410 parts per million. or 410/1,000,000 which, if you plug this into a calculator gives you 0.00041 as a fraction, or 0.041%. Perspective: If CO2 in the atmosphere is increased by a factor of 3 it will reach just over one tenth of 1 percent. More perspective: When we first checked CO2 levels it was about 320 parts per million. It is now 410 ppm, and increase of this TINY, TINY amount by about 90 ppm over more than a century. If it continues exactly the same rate....i.e. we do NOTHING, it would be at 500 ppm at 2123. And that is still only 0.05% a nearly invisible amount. Besides all that, CO2 is good for the planet, is absolutely required for any green plant to grow. More CO2 is GOOD, plants will grow better, and pull the CO2 out of the air.

As the nation barrels toward defaulting on our debt, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Saturday that negotiations are on pause until President Joe Biden returns Sunday from the Group of Seven summit in Japan. Both sides are accusing the other of being intractable in negotiations over raising the debt ceiling, which Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says we could hit as soon as June 1, causing “economic chaos.” Said McCarthy about the latest developments (or lack thereof): Unfortunately, the White House moved backwards. I don’t think we’re going to be able to move forward until the president can get back in the country.

Are Republicans actually about to win a political messaging battle? It’d certainly be shocking given the party’s track record, but that’s the story of a new Associated Press poll that is just brutal for the Democrat narrative on the debt ceiling fight. According to the results of the AP-NORC poll, a whopping 63 percent of Americans want a debt ceiling deal that includes measures to decrease the federal deficit. That compares to just 19 percent who want a debt ceiling increase to be passed without any conditions. Twenty-one percent of adults are following the debate over increasing the national debt limit closely and another 38% are following it somewhat closely.

Democrats continue to vent over how they have been forced to negotiate with Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on a potential debt ceiling deal after months of saying they would not consider discussing such a compromise. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) said that he regrets that Democrats did not raise the debt ceiling during the lame-duck session in 2022 before Republicans formally took back the House in January. “If I could do one thing different. And I was saying it at the time … ‘Hey, we got the votes,'” Kaine remarked, saying he believes that even the purportedly fiscal hawk Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) would have backed a debt ceiling hike.
