Biden is Destroying our Strategic Petroleum Reserve replies

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) is a national treasure. Frighteningly, Biden is rapidly despoiling this treasure. The Reserve consists of four sites (Bryan Mound, Big Hill, Bayou Choctaw, and West Hackberry) with a combined storage capacity of 714 million barrels of crude oil. It is the largest strategic oil reserve in the world. The OPEC oil embargo of 1973 and the resultant oil crisis contributed to western governments’ recognition of how vulnerable their countries were to disruptions in Middle East oil.

At this point, it would save everyone time if Democrats could simply point to a policy agenda item that isn’t going to save democracy — if such a thing exists. If Republicans vote, they are killing democracy. If they don’t vote, they are killing democracy. John Fetterman obviously hoped that by lowering expectations for last night’s debate with Dr. Oz and by having a closed captioning system with 2 70-inch monitors, he could convince Pennsylvania voters that he was healthy enough to discharge the duties of US Senator. But he equally obviously failed. He opened his remarks with an inappropriate greeting: “Hi. Good night, everybody.” (snip) Fetterman’s performance was bad enough that even the partisan media were forced to acknowledge his poor presentation. (snip) Time Magazine writer Charlotte Alter, who prior to the debate did her utmost to lower expectations for Fetterman, admitted that “he was much much worse than I expected.”

Voters who think that putting Republicans in control of the House and Senate will make a big difference for the economy are in for a rude awakening. President Joe Biden has unleashed the regulatory Leviathan. Lawmakers will be hard-pressed to stop the damage. The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) just this morning released its hugely valuable report called “10,000 Commandments,” which is a compendium of the regulatory state. In it, CEI Vice President for Policy Clyde Wayne Crews lays out the terrible truth about Biden’s regulatory zeal. The first thing you have to understand about

There is "crazy," and there is "bat-s--- crazy." And then there is "off-the-charts, beyond delusional, holy-bleeping-cow insanity." The last was recently on display when MSNBC host Joy Reid and guest Matthew Dowd spoke about Republicans and the economy. First, Reid accused Donald Trump of "fascism in the open" for saying he may challenge the 2022 midterm elections, starting in Philadelphia. (Why would he do that? The Democrats, though they rabidly challenged the results of the 2000, 2004, and 2016 elections, claimed that the 2008 and 2012 elections were spot on, and that the 2020 election was the single most secure and uncorrupted in all of recorded history.
The MSM Threatens Democracy replies

For our form of self-governance to work, we need a robust news industry. Its role is to hold authority accountable and allow an informed public to make well-reasoned decisions. That’s why a free and independent press is protected by the Constitution. But our MSM has run wildly off the rails. The MSM is no longer a purveyor of truth, but rather a developer of narratives -- and they’re shameless about it, calling such narratives “fake but accurate.” The facts may be wrong, but the story supports the chosen narrative. They no longer inform the public.

Two weeks before the most important off-year elections in the history of the nation isn’t a good time for Democrats to realize that the narrative that they’ve been relentlessly pushing has been a complete failure, but that’s the reality for a party that bet everything on portraying the January 6, 2021 chaos at the Capitol as a serious effort to overthrow “democracy” and is only now beginning to realize that voters could care less. The unwelcome intrusion of reality into the bubble inhabited by the coastal cultural and political elite isn’t sitting well with many, including MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough who was flummoxed by the responses of a focus group

The “isolated loner” teenager who killed two people at his St. Louis high school was captured in an eerie yearbook photo looking sullen and expressionless. The picture of Orlando Harris was confirmed by police on Tuesday — a day after he carried out the deadly shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. The 19-year-old, who gunned down a fellow student and gym teacher, wore a white hoodie, a black jacket and looked solemn in the photo that was widely shared on the internet before authorities confirmed it was Harris.

If Gov. Hochul was going to give him only one debate, Rep. Lee Zeldin wasn’t going to waste a second making nice. The Republican challenger brought the fight and focus that he has displayed on the campaign trail and scored a decisive victory Tuesday night. This wasn’t a knockout, but a victory on points because he made specific and realistic promises to improve life in New York. Hochul, meanwhile, mostly played defense. Even when she played it well, she never really laid out a vision of what four more years would like

Meghan Markle said she’s afraid to speak her mind or be clear about what she needs for fear of sounding “demanding” and being perceived as an “angry black woman.” During Spotify’s “Archetypes” podcast on Tuesday, the host Markle spoke with actress Issa Rae and comedian/actress Ziwe Fumudoh about her reluctance to be more assertive. The episode is titled “Upending the ‘Angry Black Woman’ Myth.” Markle is biracial. Her father is white, and her mother is black.

Millions of Americans have fallen out of the workforce, yet President Joe Biden’s pro-migration deputies are allowing many illegal migrants to get disaster recovery jobs in Florida. “Around Southwest Florida, drivers in pickup trucks and big white vans arrive before dawn to collect workers from sidewalks and parking lots,” the Washington Post reported on October 23, adding: Moises Calix, a 55-year-old from Honduras who lives in New Orleans, packed tools in his Chevy and made a beeline for Florida with his three sons and two pals after an acquaintance invited him to come help tarp roofs.

Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake during a campaign event over the weekend challenged her opponent, Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, to “milk a bull” after claiming the Democrat “thinks there are 47 different genders.” While Hobbs has taken to writing off Lake as a “conspiracy theorist” she will not debate, Lake hasn’t slowed down going after the Democrat on both economic and social issues, earning her a slight lead in the latest polling. “Katie Hobbs thinks there are 47 different genders,” Lake told a crowd of supporters in Morristown, AZ. “I’ll tell ya what, I’m not a biology major but there are two genders, guys. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), when challenged on cash bail reform and her refusal to discuss locking up criminals by Rep. I don’t know why that’s so important to you.” (Tweet/Video)

Just as one probably shouldn't bring a knife to a gunfight, Democrats probably shouldn't have brought a 400-pound human vegetable incapable of processing the English language to a live political debate against a professional television star who just so happened to cut his teeth as a world-renowned cardiothoracic surgeon. John Fetterman had no other options. After suffering a debilitating stroke, Fetterman has been mostly supplanted on the campaign trail by his wife and substitute Senate candidate Gisele. Lady McFetterman, whom Joe Biden already declared would be a "great lady in the Senate," went apoplectic on an NBC reporter who pointed out that the former mayor of Braddock's speech processing
