John Fetterman debate was painful and

Eleven years ago, Texas Gov. Rick Perry destroyed his bid for the presidency when he said in a debate that he had three examples of something and then could only remember two. That’s all it took — and rightly so. Debates afford voters a rare chance to see politicians under pressure having to think on their feet and respond to unexpected events. I’ve never seen anything like the Pennsylvania Senate debate between John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz on Tuesday night, and I hope never to have to see anything like it ever again. It was horrible. I didn’t think I would ever experience a moment as painful

I just wonder if this is a Democrat/Socialist set up for Fetterman to win and then have to quit because of health problems and to let his wife be put in his place. Didn't I hear Traitor Joe say she will make a great Senator. Is she a Socialist/Communist?

Fetterman is "incapable of being a senator."? That's not serious in light of Sniffin Joe being incapable of being president! But Democrats don't really care how Fetterman or B IDDEN LOOK ... they simply take every opportunity to attain power (like Xi) no matter what, because communists never give up.

Dr. Oz may be running with an "R" after his name, but he is moderate (at best) to lie-beral. That is just reality. If he wins, he will vote with the Republicans most of the time, but probably ream them some of the time by voting with the Demon-Rats "out of principle". But, ultimately, he will be able to represent the people of PA and fight to get them their share of government pork (which, sadly is the main reason most Congress critters are there). Fetterman won't be able to fight his way out of a paper bag. So lie-berals don't need to fear Oz, and conservatives need to be prepared for more RINO antics if he wins, but still hold their noses and vote for him since he will help more than he hurts.

Democrats do not require a candidate with even nominal intellectual skills, much less one who can think or reason intelligently; all they require is a warm body who will vote as told by party leaders. Have you not yet come to understand that the party is ruled by a small cabal of insiders who will do anything to retain their control? Are you still under the illusion that democrats even need actual "voters" in preference to logarithms programmed into the computers that "count" votes? Now is the time to disabuse yourselves of such silly notions.

#1, #8 -- What does Podhoretz's position on Trump have to do with his analysis of the Fetterman debate? I read it and thought it was spot on. Are you arguing that if one opposes Trump they are from that point on permanently incapable of being correct, incapable of making a contribution to the discourse? What, exactly, did he say in his Fetterman column that was wrong?

It seemed like Kevin McCarthy had thrown Democrats a lifeline. When the likely future Speaker of the House absentmindedly mused about his conference’s willingness to cut off America’s support for Ukraine’s war effort, Democrats were quick to leverage his disparagement of this popular initiative for all it was worth. But just as Democrats like President Joe Biden began to retail this new line of attack against the GOP, progressives swooped in to pull the rug out from under their own party. Again. In an inexplicably bizarre episode on Monday, 30 House progressives sent a co-signed letter to the White House urging Joe Biden to seek a negotiated settlement with

The first and only debate between John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz is happening Tuesday. Fetterman, a Democrat and the current Pennsylvania Lt. Governor, and Dr. Oz, his Republican challenger, will face off without a live audience. In an unusual twist, the Fetterman campaign is lowering expectations before the debates happens.Fetterman, once expected to trounce Oz in the race to be Pennsylvania’s next senator, now runs as though he is the underdog. Since he suffered a serious stroke, his ability to serve in the Senate has been called into question. All polls still show Fetterman ahead of Oz, though only just barely.

Few corporate landlords sought to evict more residents in 2021 than the company Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D., Ga.) church partnered with to manage its low-income apartment building. Columbia Residential manages 49 apartments in the Atlanta area, including Columbia Tower at MLK Village, a low-income apartment building owned by Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Warnock serves as senior pastor. Out of 1,587 corporate landlords across the country, only 30 filed more eviction lawsuits in 2021 than Columbia Residential, records show. The property management company filed 605 eviction actions against its residents in 2021, according to a dataset cited by House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis chairman Rep. James Clyburn (D., Ga.).

A flood of negative advertising against both candidates in Georgia appears to be hurting Sen. Raphael Warnock's (D.) image more than Republican challenger Herschel Walker's in the final weeks of the election, according to an internal Walker campaign poll obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. While the internal polling shows a tight race, consistent with independent surveys showing the race within the margin of error, Walker's pollster says the surveys show that criticism of Warnock is starting to take a toll on his favorability rating in the run-up to Election Day.Warnock's favorability rating has dipped to 40 percent, a 5-point decrease since the campaign's previous poll

November is almost upon us, and the consensus among credible election analysts is that any momentum the Democrats enjoyed this summer has evaporated. Despite implausible claims about the ephemeral “Dobbs effect,” the election was always destined to be about inflation, crime, immigration, and President Joe Biden’s job performance — all issues that favor Republicans. Yet the Democrats and the corporate media continue to engage in magical thinking about the midterms.

Republican candidate Herschel Walker is making the most of a criticism from his opponent, Democrat incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock. Warnock made the mistake of mocking Walker for being in possession of what he called “fake” police badges during a debate. Walker quickly whipped one out and proudly held it up to the audience. As it turns out, the so-called fake badges are honorary badges presented to Walker by sheriffs throughout the state. In response to the political attack from Warnock, the Walker campaign ordered 1,000 imitation plastic law enforcement badges that say “I’m with Herschel”. The campaign has turned the badges into a fundraising tool.

Humans are not very good fortune tellers, not even when there’s lots of data on which to make educated guesses. That’s certainly been true of recent political polling in 2016 and 2020 and to a lesser degree in 2018. Nevertheless, the pressure to make predictions is strong. So today, Matt Yglesias has put forward his best guess as to what will happen nationally next month. His conclusion is that polls are once again underestimating GOP strength in various races and that, partly because of that bad data, Democrats are going to underperform even current (low) expectations.According to 538, Republicans have a 72 percent chance of taking the House,

Ever since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June, it seemed possible that Democrats could avoid a midterm disaster. But if the post-Roe summer belonged to Democrats, by mid-October, even they can see the momentum they had is fading. A recent CBS News/YouGov survey has Democrats running 2 percentage points behind Republicans in the generic congressional ballot — a measure closely tied to a party’s performance in the midterms. A New York Times/Siena College poll released on Monday showed likely voters inclined to vote Republican by a 49 percent to 45 percent margin.
