Augusta National, the United States Golf Association and the PGA of America are now included in the Justice Department’s growing antitrust investigation into the PGA Tour, according to The Wall Street Journal. The initial investigation stemmed from the Tour’s feud with the controversial Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf, which has prompted lawsuits from each league against one another in a lengthy legal battle. Initially, the DOJ was just looking at the Tour. However, according to The Wall Street Journal, it now includes Augusta National, the USGA and the PGA of America. Augusta National hosts the Masters every year, and is independent from the rest of golf.

Augusta National of course. Old white guys who didn’t go woke. A little known fact is that the members,,,Clifford Roberts, Bob Jones backed Ike and put him in office. The DOJ looks desperate now. Attack the conservative side and intimidate them anyway you can. Arrest pro-life supporters, raid an ex-President’s home, send armed agents to the homes of anyone who disagrees with the totalitarian narrative. I can see who the 87,000 new IRS agents will be going after. The DOJ is already after Musk because they think he will allow free expression on Twitter. We are in deep s***, folks.

I never really understood why the PGA went nuclear on LIV. The golfers have to do all the work, pay for their travel, struggle for years to even qualify to play on the tour, and often never even win one tournament. The PGA people just have to make sure the courses look good on TV and hand out the trophies. Do they really care so much that Khashoggi died while being interrogated by the Saudi goons that they would destroy their own golden goose? Is this just virtue signaling, or do they resent that the Saudi's have enough money to break up their monopoly?

Leave Augusta alone. Not a member, don't have a snowball's chance in Hades to be extended a membership, enjoy watching the Masters on TV, love the history behind it (Bobby Jones was a member of my fraternity) and frankly don't care about the 'controversies'...just leave it alone...

The new, heavily promoted mRNA booster shots from Pfizer and Moderna are not all they’re cracked up to be, according to two new preprint studies. The boosters perform no better against Omicron than the fourth jab with the original formulation,” a new study from scientists at Columbia University in New York City found. The updated Covid-19 booster shots have been advertised as “bivalent,” meaning they target the original coronavirus strain as well as the Omicron BA.4/BA.5 subvariants. However, the Columbia paper found that the newer Omicron variants easily evade both types of boosters, Alex Berenson reported on Substack.

Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan has temporarily blocked the Jan. 6 Committee’s subpoena seeking phone records belonging to Arizona Republican Party chairwoman Kelli Ward, while the high court considers her emergency appeal. The Jan. 6 committee’s subpoena had asked Ward’s phone carrier, T-Mobile, to produce call and text message records from November 2020 to January 2021. Kagan’s decision on Wednesday is granting an emergency application that Ward and her husband filed earlier in the day seeking to prevent their phone records from being turned over to the Jan. 6 committee, after a lower appeals court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, voted 2-1 to deny her request.

A New York Supreme Court judge on Monday struck down New York City’s vaccine mandate for all city workers, finding the rule to be unconstitutional, arbitrary, and capricious. Attorney Chad LaVeglia, who announced the verdict outside the Richmond County courthouse, said the mandate was now “null and void.” “So, we just defeated the vaccine mandate for every single city employee—not just sanitation,” (snip) The ruling strikes down the mandate that saw over 2,000 city workers fired for not getting a COVID-19 vaccine. If Republicans vote, they are killing democracy. If they don’t vote, they are killing democracy. The only way to “save democracy,” writes The Washington Post’s Max Boot, is to empower one-party rule — a position that probably sounds counterintuitive to anyone with a middle-school education. “Now you need to vote to literally save democracy again,” contends President Joe Biden, or we will lose our “fundamental rights and freedoms like the right to choose, the right to privacy, the right to vote
