Tonight Joe Biden tweeted a particularly stupid idea: let’s fight inflation by raising corporate income taxes! It is extraordinary to see how out of ammunition the floundering Biden administration is, after less than a year and a half.
There is nothing newsworthy about Joe Biden saying something dumb, but Jeff Bezos’s Twitter response deserves notice: The Democrats are the party of oligarchy, and tech oligarchs are at the top of the food chain. Texas government officials can continue to investigate parents who transition their children to the opposite sex for possible child abuse, the state’s supreme court ruled Friday.
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) determined that child sex change surgeries constituted child abuse in August 2021 upon prompting by Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and the DFPS began investigations of families for potential child abuse over treatments their transgender children were receiving in February. An appeals court had previously blocked these inquiries throughout the state, but the Texas Supreme Court ruled the lower court had “abused its discretion.”

Democrats often like to preface policy debates with phrases like “it’s about the children,” as if such patronizing mantras could sanctify even the worst ideas. The sad truth, however, is that one look at what the Dems have done since 2020 shows their real concerns are anything but the children.

The aid to Ukraine comes as the US, under Biden, is struggling on several fronts.
