The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose for the 16th straight day Friday, hitting $5.919 per gallon. The price rose 2.2 cents over the last 24 hours, the largest daily increase since Feb. 25, according to the latest numbers from AAA. The 16-day streak follows a run of 28 decreases in 30 days. (Snip) California gas prices are also exacerbated because the state has the highest gas tax in the nation, at 51.1 cents per gallon. ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The U.S. Army on Thursday identified the soldier who died this week of injuries sustained during a bear attack in a military training area in Alaska. The Army in a statement said Staff Sgt. Seth Michael Plant, 30, was pronounced dead at a hospital on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage following the mauling Tuesday. Rosemary Rabidoux hit out after her son Bradon became one of three eighth grade schoolboys at Kiel Middle School subjected to an ongoing probe. Back in March, the House and the Senate approved $13.6bn for ‘assistance’ to Ukraine. On Tuesday, the House approved $40 billion more in aid.
