A few days ago, GOP Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia, and Dan Crenshaw from Texas, were involved in a heated online exchange over providing U.S. aid to Ukraine
Since Russia's incursion began, the U.S has supplied Ukraine with billions of dollars in aid. Back in March, the House and the Senate approved $13.6bn for ‘assistance’ to Ukraine. On Tuesday, the House approved $40 billion more in aid. At the beginning of the month, Biden had requested $33 billion but the House generously offered $7 billion more.
The aid to Ukraine comes as the US, under Biden, is struggling on several fronts.

What makes is think that any money we send to Ukraine or anywhere will be spent for the purposes intended? 10% off the top to the "Big Guy", and 85% of the remainder goes to various thugs in their government for their own use. I think charity begins at home. Our own country is suffering from price increases, lots of people need help here.

Ukraine is the last chance for Congress to do their money laundering before November. Pump as much in as possible and Ukraine will donate it right back to their foundations. AOC and company will all be millionaires if they get booted or keep their seats. They’ve been doing this to all of us dumbasses for decades.

Crenshaw believes in red flag laws on 2A. He trusts government, local and federal not to trample all over Americans rights. I've yet to hear his opinion about the governments trampling of Americans 1A rights concerning J6 political prisoners or mom and dads that are being targeted and investigate for voicing their ire at local open school board and city hall meetings.

Marjorie is 100% correct. Basically we are supporting one ex-Soviet block kleptocracy for another. Why? Our elected officials have a side business going and a closet full of skeletons there.

Just looking at who in America is all in for Ukraine was enough to tell me what is really going on. If the politicians, the media and Hollywood support it, I have to automatically question it. They are all raving about a sovereign country being invaded and how we must help defend it, while our own country is being invaded and they support the invaders.

I thank him for his service to our nation, but he's in politics now. No more can former service members "John McCain" us every election cycle. They come home every 2/6 years and talk conservative, then return to the Swamp and vote with Democrats. Nope, it's a new day, and you don't get to bring up your old job anymore. Do you EVER hear Rand Paul, or Tom Cotton bring up their medical credentials, even when they question a witness to the Senate Committee? Nope, never. Leave the past behind and stay in your lane, Dan.

I agree with poster #10 - and I think the real reason for the Demoncrat support for this war comes from the top. Zelensky has access to the "receipts" from Joe and Hunter's involvement in Ukraine and the Dims are simply responding to blackmail threats. They can't afford a huge scandal on top of everything else in the run-up to the midterms.

Many a whistleblower has confirmed that Congress owns its people through bribery, threats and intimidation. Crenshaw reminds me a lot of my own senator, Ben Sasse, who cruised to victory by aligning himself with the populist Republican base—in Sasse’s case it was the Tea Party—but then very quickly turned into a nasty, backstabbing, arrogant POS. Crenshaw even uses the same speech patterns as Sasse. When it comes to these Republican turncoats, I always wonder at which of the 3 arm-twisting tactics did he capitulate? Knowing the culture of Washington DC, and the types of people it tends to attract, my guess is that leadership needs to go no further than bribery.

I thought members of Congress were suppose to represent their constituents. How is $40 billion in "aid' to Ukraine helping his constituents in Texas? NO MORE FOREIGN AID.
BTW - my congressional district got redistricted here in Virginia so come Nov, I no longer am in Rep Good's district. Great R and voted correctly on all the issues I care about - voted NO on aid to Ukraine, etc. My new district has a primary later this month to vote for the R to run against against the Dem Rep
(J. Wexton) in November. One of the candidates is retired Navy EOD officer. His radio ad campaign talks about working with Navy SEALS, the vaccine mandate for military and those refusing getting discharged, etc., but every time I hear his ad. I think - another Crenshaw in the works.

They need some sort of competent inspector general to follow the 40 billion that is being rushed through Congress to fund all sorts of Ukraine Government entities, general war stocks and weapons for Ukraine, and to backfill ammunition and weapons that NATO countries have sent and will send to Ukraine. Especially since Ukraine has been found to be extremely corrupt in the past.

Crenshaw is speaking to the boobs who equate military adventurism to patriotism, wanting badly to be the "Leader of the Free World", a world they cannot define or explain anymore. This isn't 1960, or even 1990. Today's world more resembles the 1920s and 30s. It's every nation for itself, and that ought to include the USA. It's the basis for MAGA.

Just a small point: In the Uni-party (a good name for what goes on in DC), they present to the public a theater for the confounding of the voters. The Media acts as a narrator, picking and choosing who is "good" and shouting down those labeled villains. The cast of villains is comprised of three generalized groups.
The first group is like Marjorie Taylor Greene. She actually is what she seems - at least at this point in her career. She tries to represent the interests of her voters.
The Second group represents the monied interests, telling themselves they are representing their biggest donors and their employees, through them. I believe Mr. Crenshaw is of this collection. This means he is bought and paid for by whoever controls those monied interests. That means he is likely NOT to be supportive of American interests in critical ways.
The third group I call the Damned. They are people, regardless of their intent when entering politics who have been found during their FBI checks, to have interesting pasts. Maybe they have secret failings. Maybe members of their extended families do, but that is leveraged against them; Blackmail to bend them to the Uniparty's desires. If they don't play by the script, they will be destroyed - or their family members will. These individuals, found in both Democrat and Republican ranks are a major subservient unit of the Uniparty.
So there the stage is set. The Uniparty itself is guided by THEIR backers, who are international Globalists, who definitely do not have any interest in Americans' freedom or well being - only in what money we can make for them, and whether we are a threat to them and their lifestyles. But they are human, too, and are often swayed by individuals with impressive academics, who shape their decisions, even if they benefits are little more than praise and adoring press releases.
These individuals are the Margot Sangers, the Karl Marxs, the Alinskies. Eugenicists, Ecologists and social justice warriors. Their ideas often shape how the Globalist Elites form their strategies and perceive their threats. Currently, the principal threat driving them is: 1. Population is too high. and 2. That excess population makes it impossible for the Elites to enjoy the lifestyle in a free and uncompromising manner. That excess population also uses up resources and may, in coming decades, put a pinch on everyone's entertainment.
Most of our "Global Crisis" are engineered in countering those two perceptions.
Man made Global Warming is to justify cutting back the general populace's thirst for petrochemicals. We are currently at or just a little above Earth Average temperature and slowly rising. But Earth has been cold enough to be nearly completely ice-covered, and warm enough to be completely ice free. Man has little to do with it. You might notice that the Elites bray a good panic about everything but never short themselves. Some fear running out of oil, but in those areas of the world where they stop drilling, oil seeps out of the ground and causes other environmental hazards that they conveniently don't publicize.
And shortages? Don't worry. Our Elites have first pick of whatever is available. Then we get the leavings. They'll piously wring their hands over the hungry, demand sacrifices of the merely poor and middle class, then go back to sipping 40 year old wines, 100 year old brandies and eating well aged Kobi beef.
To return to the point: Our elected officials are usually corrupt as a group and for a variety of reasons. Until we can isolate them from the Globalists, so that they MUST work for the voters. Marjorie Taylor Greenes are going to be bright, loved and courageous but ineffective tools in reaching for the American Dream.

I served 30 years and retired. Prior service, regardless of its characteristics, from decorated combat veteran to rear echelon pencil pusher, from private to general is not a guarantee of desirability for any level of elected office. Both Bushes, Carter, McCain and Kerry were prior service. Reagan and Trump never served.
