Access to abortions needed for Ukrainian
refugees in Poland, UNHCR says

Original Article

WARSAW - Women who have fled to Poland to escape war must have access to reproductive rights that meet international standards, including abortions, a top UNHCR official said on Friday, amid reports of rape and sexual violence in Ukraine. Poland has some of the most restrictive abortion laws in Europe, and human rights activists have raised concerns about the difficulties victims of rape from Ukraine fleeing to the country may face if they need to terminate a pregnancy.  CORRECTIONS*

Comments:

No to baby killing. And if the UNHCR goes on trying to make the Ukraine war plus United Nations into a legal mechanism for legalizing babykiling, I am going to stop caring about that war, because there are more babies at risk than Ukrainians, and their deaths are more torturous. Can't the UN stop leveraging every global objective for their hateful babykilling cruel torturous racist agenda that most people oppose?

If you needed shelter, the Poles seem to be the best at supplying that. If you want abortion, feel free to go somewhere else. Russia, perhaps?

Are all pregnant women clamoring for an abortion? Is the only thing on their minds as they flee after witnessing massive death a destruction killing the innocent child within them? Somehow I don't think it is. I have been active with pro-life organizations for years. The vast majority of women who contemplate abortion are scared and desperate for someone to show the way that they can have the baby. There are thousands of stories of women who went to pro-life counselors who found positive, sound, compassionate assistance and went on to give birth to healthy babies. Women can have "crisis" and unplanned pregnancies. That's why God gave us nine month's notice. Everything can change by the time baby arrives. If women are listening to these vocal abortion cheerleaders, they hear nothing but negative, fearful rhetoric that make the thought of giving birth. Babies and children are a burden, you can't have a career, they wreck your body, they tie you down, etc. No hope, just despair. Another thing...Everyone has to bend over backwards to make sure their words do do "offend" anyone. People have been fired for not using some not job's "preferred pronoun." We don't want to "trigger" bad or hurtful feelings in others. What do they think all of the talk about championing of abortion? Our Congress fighting for demand, up to the day of birth abortions and infanticide, commentators declaring they would get pregnant just to abort. Horrible things. Does no one consider the the very real pain this causes families who lost a baby? I have friends with who have had multiple miscarriages, still births, babies who died shortly after birth from deformities, as well as those desperate to conceive, or adopt. Their pain is excruciating. Imagine how they must feel every time a baby is referred to as a "mistake", a burden, to be dumped in a garbage can or sold for parts. Can't these loud mouth baby haters have any compassion for these families, as least as much as they have for an offended Tran?

The LAST things that these women are likely to want is to murder their unborn babies. My bet is that they will cherish them all the more in a time of much dying.

Strikes me, abortion is the last thing on the mind of most Ukrainian refugees, but high priority for the UN. Meanwhile, ex-Polish President, Lech Walesa, is in the United States pitching the plight of the Ukrainian refugee. So many of these humanitarian groups could care less about the people they are helping.

Flees to safety to preserve her life only to refuse to protect the life that grows within her. Rhymes with a parable I read once. If any Ukrainka feels she "needs" an abortion, she is welcome to return to her homeland and receive free reproductive healthcare courtesy of Russian angels of mercy.

"Crazy expensive lightbulbs burn out too Fast. Kill MORE Babies!!" "nearly empty mass transit buses/trains/subways are rarely on time. Kill MORE Babies!!" "My dog won't stop scratching. Sounds to me like the so-called "UNHCR" (like the rest of the UN) is out of touch with reality and should be defunded.

Russian forces have shelled and attempted to storm the Azovstal steelworks, the last holdout of Ukrainian troops defending the southern port city of Mariupol, as a first convoy of refugees from the plant reached the city of Zaporizhzhia. Video footage showed thick smoke in the sky above the site where officials said up to 200 civilians, including children, remained trapped in a network of underground bunkers and tunnels with up to 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers. The Red Cross (ICRC) said more than 100 civilians had managed to escape in a convoy of buses and ambulances accompanied by ICRC and UN teams, joined by families and individuals in private vehicles.

The bodies are strewn across the quiet tree-lined street in the town of Bucha as far as the eye can see. All 20 are in civilian clothing, and all have their different poses in death. Some lie with sightless eyes staring at Ukraine's overcast sky, some lie face down on the tarmac. Three of them are tangled up in bicycles after taking their final ride, while others, with waxy skin, have fallen next to bullet-ridden and crushed cars. One has his hands tied behind his back with a white cloth, and his Ukrainian passport left open beside his corpse, said AFP journalists who accessed the town. CORRECTION*
