Representative Mo Brooks (R-AL) claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic was a manmade “bioweapon” created by the Communist Chinese during a Saturday appearance on the Fox News Channel. Brooks, a candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama, told FNC’s “Fox News Live” that it would be something we would have to “learn to deal with” despite a reluctance to discuss the pandemic by Democrat leaders. “[T]he bottom line is this — and people need to understand this: This is a bioweapon that was created in the Wuhan bioweapons lab of the Communist Chinese Party, in conjunction with the People’s Liberation Army,” he said.

As I write, on January 6, 2022, I’m reminded that sometimes government doesn’t go right. Too often, it has been because of oppression — governments only caring about some of the people and riding roughshod over the rest. They paper over the tyranny with the appearance of legality, deepening the oppression by requiring mental and spiritual enslavement to the this caricature as if it were legitimate. But even well-conceived nations can err. Constitutionalists know that even the best systems of law will miscarry. Juries get it wrong, sometimes wrongly convicting innocent people, sometimes failing to convict real criminals.

Here is some number-crunching. Using natural immunity as a base and the fully vaccinated to mean two mRNA shots, we can conclude the following: An unassailable stat from the Israelis, which made Fauci change his guidance from "if you are fully vaccinated, you will not catch it" to "if you are fully vaccinated, you can still catch it and spread it," was that the fully vaccinated in Israel were 6–13 times more likely to catch the D variant than the naturally immune population. And the first decent-sized sample regarding omicron shows that the fully vaccinated are 2.61 times more likely to catch omicron than the D variant.

Guidance issued by the Biden administration states certain individuals may be considered "high risk" and more quickly qualify for monoclonal antibodies and oral antivirals used to treat COVID-19 based on their "race or ethnicity." In a fact sheet issued for healthcare providers by the Food and Drug Administration, the federal agency approved emergency use authorizations of sotrovimab – a monoclonal antibody proven to be effective against the Omicron variant – only to patients considered "high risk." The guidance, updated in December 2021, says "medical conditions or factors" such as "race or ethnicity" have the potential to "place individual patients at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19,"
