The Omicron variant is far less deadly than earlier variants. It might even be comparable to the seasonal flu, according to new reports.“Omicron could be even less deadly than flu, scientists believe in a boost to hopes that the worst of the pandemic is over,” the Daily Mail reported. “Some experts have always maintained that the coronavirus would eventually morph into a seasonal cold-like virus as the world develops immunity through vaccines and natural infection. But the emergence of the highly-mutated Omicron variant appears to have sped the process up.”“Covid killed one in 33 people who tested positive at the peak of the devastating second wave

I would think if 750 million people recently tested positive for Covid in the US (according to one of our esteemed SC justices) we should be at herd immunity by now. Seriously, if the positive numbers are correct, why are we still cowering behind masks and computer screens?

Omicron now appears to be nothing more than a common cold. Of course, for vulnerable people, even a cold can get out of hand and turn into pneumonia. Even the deadlier original Chicom Flu's death rate is wildly exaggerated. Probably only half what is published by the MSM and Fauci's frauds. When even a sitting SCOTUS (the dumb Latina) can spout obvious lies about this disease, then we see the politics behind the curtain.

This seems to be correct, and more evidence is showing up all the time. It fits with the history of pandemics. In history, all disease vectors eventually mutate to become enedemic, low lethality diseases. Many just "disappear". This disappearance is probably that they are RNA viruses which are fundamentally unstable in their genetic material, so they continuously accumulate replication errors, or mutations. "Mutations" are just errors in passing on genetic code from one generation to the next. At some point the genetic code becomes so riddled with errors that the virus is no longer functional, or no longer even able to infect humans. RNA viruses just accumulated transcription errors....into a muddle. Imagine having the Gettysburg Address typed by unskilled typists, each working from the typo filled copy of a previous unskilled typist, and no typist correcting any errors, each just doing their best to replicate what they were given. After a few dozen retypings, it would be unreadable. This is RNA replication. It cannot correct errors. Viruses that use DNA for genetic information replicate with far, far greater accuracy due to the double stranded nature of DNA, which has a 'backup copy" and which repair enzymes will correct missing or damaged chunks. These viruses will eventually mutate as double errors still can happen, but these unfixable double errors are far rarer, making the mutation time scale more like centuries or millennia for DNA viruses rather than the months or years for RNA viruses. In my unskilled typist analogy above....add in an editor who refers back to the original speech and makes corrections after each retyping. This is DNA replication - a backup copy to fix errors. Smallpox is a DNA virus, and is so stable that we have been able to vaccinate against it and nearly eradicate it. Vaccinating against RNA viruses is entirely futile. We have gotten a first hand demonstration of both of these in my lifetime. All long lived creatures necessarily use DNA for their genetic material. Otherwise they couldn't survive long.

I'm into my 4th day of Omicron. Tested positive on !/5/22. Went to bed the night before felt great, woke up in the morning feeling terrible. Weak, body aches and constant sneezing and blowing my nose. Of course, will miss work. It is a very bad cold. Each day gets better, only problem now is loss of taste. Drinking a lot of hot peppermint tea and smoothies. Has to run it's course, I'm fully vaccinated. South Africa was correct.

Where on earth does this get a 1 in 33 death rate for covid? I vaguely recall that even the delta variant had a death rate of under 1% of those who tested positive. Didn't the higher rates only apply to those who had breathing tubes put down their throats?
