Watershed moment in NYC: New law allows
noncitizens to vote

New York — More than 800,000 noncitizens and “Dreamers” in New York City will have access to the ballot box — and could vote in municipal elections as early as next year — after Mayor Eric Adams allowed legislation to automatically become law Sunday. Opponents have vowed to challenge the new law, which the City Council approved a month ago. Unless a judge halts its implementation, New York City is the first major U.S. city to grant widespread municipal voting rights to noncitizens. More than a dozen communities across the U.S. already allow noncitizens to cast ballots in local elections, including 11 towns in Maryland and two in Vermont. CORRECTION*

Non-citizens have no business being allowed to vote in any jurisdiction anywhere in the United States. What eleven town in Md. allow this. I am sure one is Takoma Park , Montgomery County and the others are in the Washington Baltimore corridor.

Now the citizens of NYC should be disqualified from voting in State or national elections, that would be a fair trade off.

On an earlier thread - - I pointed out that the law allows cockroaches - - a group which has played an important role in the city's history - - to vote as well. Then a later poster reminded me - - that rats - - who have also had significant roles in the city's development - - are also enfranchised by this law. It's only right and just - - that such important players as cockroaches and rats - - have a say in the city's future.

The democrat party has declared war on this country and many people are still apathetic. Those are the ones who believe something like this could never happen here. Well, it is happening at breakneck speed and their response is to bury their heads in the sand. This is the same mindset that has allowed heinous atrocities to be committed by tyrants down through the ages. Evil depends on it. There has always been evil in our midst but at the same time good men and women have held them in check. Clearly, the balance has shifted now and far too few good people want to enter the fray. They don’t want to stand up because it’s just too hard. Poor dears. Now evil has gained an enormous amount of power and still most people just want to keep their heads down and left alone, time is swiftly approaching when that will not be possible. We must understand evil is relentless, it never stops and is always pushing forward. It is up to us to take a stand and say, no more. We either fight for this country or we are going to lose it. I honestly believe NYC and some of our biggest blue cities are lost. Time to wall them off for the safety of the rest of us. There is no justification to let their poison seep into the rest of the country and destroy us.

Throw in an obese Manhattan DA who has never heard of a crime he would prosecute, the new Mayor’s team of friends and relatives and now future elections turned over to illegal aliens and you have things about to get worse.

Clearly only US Citizens should vote in US elections. In this case all the foreigners now in New York City whether in the USA illegally or legally are citizens of other countries, and as such are able to vote in their home county elections, usually by absentee ballot, or directly by stopping by their home country consulate offices. Many of those foreigners are in the USA on temporary visas as tourists, for business purposes, or as foreign students, and of course all the new voters that this New York City voter law points out as being “dreamers” are actually deportable illegal aliens under the immigration laws passed by Congress in accordance with direct authority derived from the US Constitution. The “dreamer” description was invented by Obama and his crew to keep as many illegal aliens in the USA as possible, without ever being provided for in the immigration laws passed by Congress. In New York City a million foreigners voting for leftist, progressive, or socialist Democrats will really have no practical effect outside the City, as Democrats of one degree or another always win in New York City elections. The only real effect down the line is if the New York City Democrats attempt to use the same voter rolls, that could contain the names of about a million foreigners, in upcoming State and Federal elections. The Democrats would not do that, would they?

For the four years of the Trump administration, ICE should have been rounding these people up from the sanctuary cities and states, regardless of whether they get no help from local authorities, and deporting them promptly instead of releasing to show up later. We know that at least a portion vote with their fake IDs. It's the best thing we could have done for the election security of 2020. But we didn't.

A few years ago, the editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter pitched a story to the newsroom. He had just come back from lunch with a well-known agent, who had suggested the paper take a look at the unintended consequences of Hollywood’s efforts to diversify. Those white men who had spent decades writing scripts—which had been turned into blockbuster movies and hit television shows—were no longer getting hired. The newsroom blew up. The reporters, especially the younger ones, mocked the idea that white men were on the outs. The editor-in-chief, normally self-assured, immediately backtracked. He looked rattled.

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett fired two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to help lift the Bulldogs to their first national championship since 1980, beating Alabama 33-18. After a questionable fumble call that led to an Alabama score earlier in the period, Bennett would regroup and toss a 40-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Adonai Mitchell to put the Bulldogs back up. Bennett would strike again later in the fourth with a 15-yard touchdown to Brock Bowers. With 3:33 left, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young would get the ball back to try to force overtime. Young would throw a Pick Six to Kelee Ringo, which would seal the deal.

The White House considers Georgia as “ground zero” for voter suppression laws. Somewhere along the way, Georgia Democrats didn’t receive the memo. They question why Biden and Kamala are traveling to their state tomorrow to echo the themes of Biden’s highly divisive January 6 speech and talk up his endorsement of a filibuster carveout in order to pass voting rights legislation in the Senate. This is a perfect example of the tone-deafness that plagues the Biden administration. Biden and Harris can’t even get on the same page as their own party activists. Most people discounted CDC and FDA credibility after they admitted to “noble lies” such as that on masking, but recently the CDC have stepped up their game on obvious incompetence and politicization. The impression of desperate flailing had already been made on many Americans prior to this, but now media outlets like Axios have sat up and taken notice: While much of the unvaccinated population is unlikely to be persuaded by any messenger, large swaths of the public are still receptive to expert guidance, but federal health agencies, particularly the CDC, may be squandering their credibility with this population.

Old Joe Biden’s handlers are desperate to revive Barack Obama’s Iran nuclear deal, as Biden State Department wonk Ned Price has made clear: “We are prepared, as we have said, to lift sanctions that are inconsistent with the JCPOA,” that is, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which is the official name of the agreement Donald Trump quite rightly called the worst in history. Meanwhile, as Biden’s handlers do everything they can to be conciliatory toward Iran, the Islamic regime in Tehran is more belligerent than ever. Ned Price and his colleagues would be wise to ponder whether there is a connection between those two stances, but they won’t.

Most Americans today have a romanticized (and extraordinarily narrow) historical understanding of the conflict that we call the Civil War. In their imaginations, it goes something like this: With passions inflamed by a moral renaissance in the North regarding the institution of slavery in the South, the two sides decided to go to war over the issue. In the end, the evil South was righteously razed by the armies of the North, and thus, slavery was ended, and the former slaves made American citizens, as Abraham Lincoln intended.
