Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, the officer who went viral for blasting the military's leadership amid the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, has been sent to the brig, according to a report. "All our son did is ask the questions that everybody was asking themselves, but they were too scared to speak out loud," Scheller's father, Stu Scheller Sr., told Task & Purpose. "He was asking for accountability. In fact, I think he even asked for an apology that we made mistakes, but they couldn’t do that, which is mind-blowing."

He'll be court martialed and sent to Leavenworth, most likely, and dishonorably discharged. Made all the way to Lt. Col and then insisted on pointing out how rotten the upper leadership actually is. Fortunately, at least one of my Marines is out and free from their leftist tyranny.

I have no idea how this happened but it won’t stand the test of an Independent Officer Review which will allow him to exit the brig. I have some doubt about his mental state so he may end up in a psychiatric review. This is not the Marine Corps I knew.

At most he would receive a Bad Conduct Discharge not a Dishonorable Discharge and I sincerely doubt he would be convicted. If found guilty any brig time would be suspended. I would urge him to withdraw his resignation.

He stepped outside of the Brotherhood of Hush. Accountability is only for peon commanders. He Lt. Col. Scheller was on the brink of joining the Brotherhood. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut, hang on to his sugar daddy (they all have them in the higher ranks), and he could have enjoyed a comfortable life of nodding and winking as he punched his ticket to become a general officer. But, he dared to ask questions, uncomfortable questions. For this he must be cast out. But not before serving his time in the military Star Chamber.

He said when he published that he expected to be jailed. This is classic civil disobedience - He did the act and is taking the consequences. For that he must be supported and honored. OTOH, there is the case of Gen. Milley admitting he failed to honor his oath to protect the Constitution, i.e. the civilian command of the military. And the outrage...what outrage?

Earlier today Joint Chiefs Chairman, General Mark Milley, again claimed that intelligence was gathered and given to him showing that China was fearful of an imminent attack from the United States prior to Milley’s phone call with Chinese military to assure them the U.S. was not about to attack. This is the same claim that General Milley made yesterday [LINK] about the same issue. Immediately after this repeated claim, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe directly refuted Milley on Fox News with Martha MacCallum.

The Senate parliamentarian has nixed Democrats' back-up plan for getting immigration reform into a sweeping spending bill, handing them a second setback. Democrats had pitched parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough on legalizing millions of undocumented immigrants by making a change to the date for when undocumented immigrants within the United States can apply to adjust their legal status. But MacDonough told Democrats that the option was a non-starter, according to a copy of the guidance obtained by The Hill. Democrats are pursuing other back-up plans with the Senate referee, according to a source familiar with Democrats' strategy.

A severe escalation of the war on a free internet and free discourse has taken place over the last twelve months. Numerous examples of brute and dangerous censorship have emerged: the destruction by Big Tech monopolies of Parler at the behest of Democratic politicians at the time that it was the most-downloaded app in the country; the banning of the sitting president from social media; and the increasingly explicit threats from elected officials in the majority party of legal and regulatory reprisals in the event that tech platforms do not censor more in accordance with their demands.

Unintentional killings of innocent civilians are an unfortunate but inevitable occurrence in sustained wars. The wars associated with our attempt to curb terrorism seem particularly prone to producing such killings by American forces. I don’t think there’s any doubt that the wars fought under Presidents Bush (43) and Obama resulted in U.S. forces unintentionally killing innocent civilians. This might well have been the case under President Trump too, despite the scaled-back and changed nature of his war efforts. However, the unintentional killing of innocents in that recent Afghanistan drone strike, as we were completing our evacuation of Americans and Afghans, is different in at least two respects.CORRECTION*

Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough on Sunday ruled Democrats cannot include amnesty in their gargantuan reconciliation bill because it is not a budget-related matter. The Democrats are pushing their $3.5 trillion “infrastructure” bill through budget reconciliation to go around Republicans because it will only need a simple majority to pass. Democrat lawmakers tried to sneak immigration reform in the infrastructure bill because they know it will never pass in a vote that requires at least 60 votes to pass. The Senate Parliamentarian rejected the Democrats’ effort to give illegals a pathway to citizenship because it would lead to “other, life-changing federal, state and societal benefits.”
