Federal agents served a search warrant at a boutique resort in Homer, Alaska, saying they were looking for a laptop stolen from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, one of the Homer Inn and Spa owners said.
Agents on Wednesday confiscated laptop computers and a cellphone, owner Marilyn Hueper said. A cellphone belonging to her husband, Paul Hueper, was also forensically audited by agents but not confiscated, she said.

The Transportation Security Administration announced Friday it will extend a federal mandate that requires people to wear masks in transportation settings, including at airports, on commercial aircraft and on commuter bus and rail systems, through Sept. 13. Johnny Crawford, the former child actor who was an original Mouseketeer and young star of The Rifleman, has died following a battle with Alzheimer's. He was 75.
Crawford died peacefully on Thursday in a California care home with his wife Charlotte by his side, his management said in a statement.

A Minnesota man has been fined $12 million for helping set fire to a police station during a protest last summer following the death of George Floyd.
Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 23, pleaded guilty in December to one count of conspiracy to commit arson. He was accused of lighting a Molotov cocktail that another person threw at the Third Precinct headquarters in Minneapolis.
He now faces four years in prison and a whopping fine for the damages to the police station -- a penalty Robinson’s lawyer argues he will never be able to pay.
Reuters reported Wednesday that “major Chinese investors” are in talks to buy a stake in Saudi Aramco, the national oil company of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) mentioned the possibility of selling some Aramco stock in a television interview Tuesday.
“I don’t want to give any promises but there’s a discussion for acquisition of one percent of one of the pioneer companies for energy that will be a great deal to enhance the sales of Aramco in the country of this company,” he said.
“I cannot mention the name but it’s a huge company, and obtaining one percent will reinforce the industries of Aramco and will promote that.”

Moderna on Thursday announced plans to ramp up global production of its COVID-19 vaccine and said it could produce 3 billion doses next year -- twice the number in its original plan.
Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel said new investments in Europe and the United States will allow the company to reach the mark in 2022.

A Monmouth University poll reported Thursday 52 percent of Americans support the Senate filibuster when used to block tax increases.
The polls asked whether the filibuster should be used to block “tax rate change” legislation. In this instance, the majority of Americans support the filibuster.
The poll’s margin of error is +/- 3.5 percentage points and was conducted by telephone from April 8 to 12, 2021 with 800 adults in the United States.
