A Columbus, Ohio, Back the Blue rally scheduled for Saturday has been postponed amid security concerns, and Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has described the lack of security as being part of a coordinated attempt to make rally attendees look bad. Greene, who was supposed to headline the event, said she received "incredibly disturbing and infuriating" information from the organizers. She said the organizers were informed there would be a counter-protest by Black Lives Matter and Antifa and the company that manages the location of the rally would not provide security fencing to ensure the safety of the two groups.

"Power to the People" was a chant used by anti-war and civil rights protesters in the '60s. John Lennon wrote a song with that title in 1971. The idea flowed from the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution which begins, "We the people." The concept behind that phrase was that the people, not the government, are sovereign and the government's power is granted to it by the governed. That has been reversed in our day as government has become evermore powerful, some would argue dictatorial, as demonstrated by restrictions on our liberties with the COVID-19 virus used as the excuse.

Many of us recently saw an online video of a young teenage girl brandishing a knife, large enough to be a deadly weapon, attempting to stab another young girl. Just in the nick of time, a police officer shot the attacker, who died.
While this is the most extreme video I've seen, there are many other instances of similar behavior, mostly unrecorded by media. Somehow, we have become a nation in which literally thousands of young people are walking around, ready at a moment's notice to react with violence,

Organizers were told less than 48 hours before the rally there would not be any security fencing for the rally; however, the organizers have had security fencing provided for past events at the Columbus Capitol as well as a counter protest area. Representative Green pointed out that our Constitution supports law and order but “violent thugs and domestic terrorists” are not protected by this country’s laws and must be held accountable for their crimes in accordance with our laws. She further states that having taken an oath to defend the U. S. Constitution that demands law and order, she backs the blue.
