My, my — how calm things have gotten in Washington since Jan. 20.Watching cable news and reading the major newspapers, you'd almost never know that hundreds of people continue to die from COVID-19, that nearly 10 million people are out of work (largely thanks to government lockdowns), and that hundreds of thousands of destitute migrants continue throwing themselves into our care at the border. No, the people who for four years could find a scandal in a box of fish food couldn't be more relaxed. The New York Times's Michelle Cottle loves the way things are right now under her new president. "He’s making the presidency boring again,"

President Joe Biden is not as radical as conservatives said he would be. He is much, much worse. The man who was sold to Americans as a “moderate” by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, and who told voters, “I beat the socialist,” has been the most radical president in U.S. history. Biden has proposed a staggering $6 trillion in spending, most of it unpaid for, and most of it on big government programs. He has also proposed massive tax hikes, in the midst of what he claims is a historic economic crisis. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has called Biden’s first 100 days in office a “bait and switch,”

Our country’s racial past is checkered, to say the least, but because our founders were wise men, if not perfect men, they bequeathed us a form of government we the people, through our representatives, could alter.Over the course of our history, through laws, constitutional amendments, and, sadly, a civil war, our predecessors got us as close to “a more perfect union” than when our country was founded. But in recent years, the American left, using the Democratic Party as its vehicle, has been working overtime to tear down all of the progress we’ve made.

California is giving 76,000 inmates, including violent and repeat felons, the opportunity to leave prison earlier as the state aims to further trim the population of what once was the nation’s largest state correctional system.More than 63,000 inmates convicted of violent crimes will be eligible for good behavior credits that shorten their sentences by one-third instead of the one-fifth that had been in place since 2017. That includes nearly 20,000 inmates who are serving life sentences with the possibility of parole. The new rules take effect Saturday but it will be months or years before any inmates go free earlier. Violent crime is surging in Minneapolis with homicides last year spiking to the second highest levels ever as the COVID-19 pandemic and protests in the wake of George Floyd's death devastated the city. Of the 5,426 violent crimes recorded in Minneapolis last year, 83 of them were homicides, according to the city's police crime statistic data. It is only the second highest number of homicides since 1995 when a record 97 homicides were recorded. That record 1995 figure resulted in the city being branded 'Murderapolis' by national media. Violent crime was already trending upward in the first half of last year but it really

Joe Biden’s administration, seeking deep cuts to planet-heating emissions, is facing pressure to take a previously unthinkable step: declare the end of the internal combustion engine in the US. Washington state has moved to call time on the age of gasoline and diesel cars, with the legislature passing a goal that new car sales be only zero-emission vehicles from 2030, including out of state purchases that are then imported. The legislation now awaits to signature of Governor Jay Inslee, a Democrat who previously ran for president on the climate crisis platform. While not a strict mandate, the Washington bill is

Tucker Carlson opened Friday night’s show with a pointed critique. The rhetorical question was why the Republican leadership is so disconnected from Republican voters. One of the reasons, he said, is Frank Luntz. For decades, Luntz has been giving the GOP leadership its talking points. The problem is that Luntz is not a conservative; he is a corporate servant and his points always align with corporate America – and lately, corporate America has been aligning with the woke left. Asked directly if he would oppose unilateral action by Congress to make the district a state, Manchin replied, "Yes, I would."
