A Minnesota man has been fined $12 million for helping set fire to a police station during a protest last summer following the death of George Floyd.
Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 23, pleaded guilty in December to one count of conspiracy to commit arson. He was accused of lighting a Molotov cocktail that another person threw at the Third Precinct headquarters in Minneapolis.
He now faces four years in prison and a whopping fine for the damages to the police station -- a penalty Robinson’s lawyer argues he will never be able to pay.

What is the problem with these judges? No sense of reality at all. First...four lousy years? He deserves 20, at least. And don't tell me 'Yeah, but they fined him $12 million!' Really? Really?! Does anyone think that this little piece of excrement is ever going to get anywhere near $12 million?! Do you?! He's got life-long minimum wage written all over him! Put him in Gen Pop where he can 'entertain' the big boys.

A 12 million fine is irrelevant because ..
A. You can't possibly pay it because you don't have any money (your live in girlfriend does. or
B. You are so stinking rich that it's basically lunch money.

I was totally surprised by the photograph of him on KTSP.com. I was curious who would name a child Shakespeare. Frankly he doesn't look that smart. They could have used Einstein. /s

Man? He’s a child. When he gets out of jail, I hope he has to spend the rest of his life trying to pay off the 12 million. I wonder if he ha a mother and father at home. I’m betting single parent.

Personally, I think if someone causes deliberate agredious harm, and cannot pay restitution, he should be executed.

1. He will be on the Al Sharpton payment plan.
2. He will be released for "good behavior" I predict in 5 months.

Judging by the name his parents gave him, he should just be able to sell some of his poetry to pay bail , fines, etc........
Looks like a poet, too.

Amen, OP! Since he can’t pay off the debt in dollars, make him pay it in prison time.

I am quite familiar with culture of rural, northwestern Minnesota. I find it impossible to imagine any local, even in the heartland of the Democrat Labor Party, giving their child a middle name as self-absorbed as "Shakespeare." It's particularly ironic now that Shakespeare is spurned by The Woke.

I love the imagination of parents especially young parents who invent these idiotic names for their children. I saw an NFL draft pick a few years ago named DeFrost now where did that come from. Stupid mindless person thought it was a campfire party to have some fun he never knew what the tab would be suppose a death had occurred due to the fire, then what? Life in prison would have been appropriate to show future arsonist the consequences.

Can somebody explain to me where the money is supposed to come from? They certainly couldn't garnish his salary for the next 240 years (assuming this loser could even earn $50K/per year).

Maybe he'll turn in some of his fellow leftist punks for some benefit to him? Extra candy bars or something.

Burns a building, riots....4 years. Walkthrough capital, don’t destroy anything... face 10. All those people are still in DC jail held without bail. Most were nonviolent and did not destroy anything. I have to say what a pointless penalty he hardly looks as though he has any money let alone $12m?! Send him to prison forever instead!
