The US government has still not ordered travel restrictions for India even as the country's COVID-19 crisis deepens—despite there still being bans in place on the UK, South Africa, Brazil and a number of European countries.
The State Department issued a Level 4 travel advisory on Wednesday, which is the highest alert of its kind, urging all Americans to leave India if they can because of the current COVID-19 outbreak there. The alert also advises Americans not to travel to India as the country experiences a catastrophic second wave that is, in part, fueled by a deadly Indian variant

I'm not sure how big a real deal is going on in India. I smell some US "news" outlets pumping up things more than a real problem.
But, I'll be doing some looking at other sources of information.

Biden does not want to stir up anti-Indian hatred amongst those evil white supremacists roaming the streets like Trump did with Asians. Biden probably feels that it would be racist to have a travel ban on India like most other countries. We need equity, equality in Covid, not division and hate cause by a travel ban!

Who would come to the US an run all of the 7-11's, convenience stores, and Dunkin Donuts if Biden banned travel from India? He doesn't want to appear racist by singling out India as having a Covid problem....just like when he did not think we should have banned travel from China at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic.

#4, more running hotels in small towns than anything else from what I have seen. Essentially all "second string" motels are run by Indian families, in my experience traveling in small town western USA.

I know #4 and #5 know this, but for those that don't realize it, Indians run a lot of major corporations in the US too. I would rather have them than tie Chinese running so much stuff. I am not saying that I like ANYBODY else running so much of corporate America, especially big tech, but my major customer is Indian. He is extremely smart and hard working as well as the few others that I have met working there. The best medical doctor I ever had was from India too. He cared a heck of a lot more than American doctors and actually tried to help a person medically rather than squeeze a patient for more dollars.

Covid has been around for over a year, and its only now becoming a problem in India? That does not make sense. My guess is whoever's counting deaths in India has changed how they are doing it. Have heard India has lots of diseases, and their initial attitude is what's one more. They were hardly attributing any deaths to Covid initially. They are (or whoever is doing the counting) is likely blaming all deaths on Covid now.
Can see Biden and his Board of Regents coming up with a new scenario to lockdown the USA again. it (covid) will magically come from India. Maybe they will even theorize its a new resistant strain. Gotta keep the panic pandemic going. They cannot have Florida and Texas reopening while California and New York are still locked down.

Have worked a number of ships with Indian officers, captains and mates. For some reason they fell into one of two categories. They were either extremely intelligent and competent or complete idiots who didn't (literally) know which way was North. Same licenses but for some reason no middle ground. Never did figure out why, I just fired the idiots and kept the good ones.

The paper must be as confused as Biteme, because they still think someone with intelligence and the will to protect the country is still in charge.

Reports from Indian new sources of "200 lakh deaths".....in India "lakh" is 100,000. Apparently comes from money....where the rupee is used in huge quantities. At around 75 rupees per dollar....they add up rapidly, need a handy way to set prices.
In any case, 200,000 ish dead from a population 1.4 billion, so about four times the US population. The fake CDC numbers in the USA are 550K, actually more like 15K. I don't know how much 'Wuhan inflation' is happening in India, but 200K out of 1.4 billion is 142 deaths per million. In the USA, using the fake numbers, it is 1,667 per million.
The real US death rate is more like 45 per million. So...perhaps India's death rate isn't as exaggerated, so is 3 times the US (real) rate per million. India's reported deaths is currently about 9% of the US fake death rate, assuming the 200,000 number is accurate for India. I haven't done a serious search on Indian deaths, just ran across one source, might not be accurate.

RE: #6 and 9, I have worked with several PhD engineers from India. Two were 'book smart', and clearly extremely intelligent but suffered from zero contact with real machines during their upbringing, apparently. I doubt that if you gave them a fully disassembled 10 speed bike and a month that they could figure it our enough to assemble it and ride away on it. I think that they must have been from wealthy families and never had to fix anything in their lives, never built a minibike, or repaired a bike, or made a fort out of salvaged shipping pallets, fixed a lawnmower, rebuilt a carb on their car, etc. But darned intelligent.
The third was a computer engineer at Cray, which at that time sold absolutely THE most powerful supercomputers in the world. We spent several days working closely together, including one 24 hour computer test run where we stayed up all night checking performance....and chatting. REALLY smart guy and super nice. I visited his home and met his renter...another pleasant Indian engineer.
Nothing at all against Indians....but a good percentage take the socialist/communist government of India as a great idea to do everywhere - and THAT I object to. India has been wrecking their economy by too much socialism and corruption for a very long time. Sometimes they almost seem to get ready for real capitalism....but then fall back. I have visited India and enjoyed it, but it really has it's problems.

Just watched a video from a gal in India and she stated that the whole thing is over blown. People are NOT dying in the streets and everything is about normal except for the locking down of the public. (Sound familiar)

The feckless Republicans are worthless as defenders of the republic. People figure Bidet is doing a great job handling the Chinese plague, since the US media won't say otherwise, and since it's left up to a British tabloid to question the CDC and the State Department why there are no travel restrictions from India, which is said to be in a huge crisis.
