ESPN and Altitude TV reported the game was going to be moved to Coors Field in Denver on July 13. Neither the Rockies nor MLB immediately responded to Fox News’ request for comment. When President Donald Trump blocked users on Twitter, some of them sued, claiming the president had violated their First Amendment rights to speak in a public forum. On Monday, the Supreme Court dismissed that lawsuit as moot. While the Court did not issue an opinion on the case, it stands to reason that Biden v. Knight First Amendment Institute (2021) would be moot because Trump is no longer in office and because Twitter has suspended Trump’s account. Justice Clarence Thomas wrote an important concurring opinion warning that the true threat to free speech did not involve Trump but Twitter. The Texas Rangers baseball team had asked Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to throw out the first pitch at their home opener. Major League Baseball then took a stand against sensible voting reforms in Georgia, reforms that include extending early voting days making it easier to Georgians to cast votes. After Joe Biden shamelessly and repeatedly lied about that law, MLB moved the All-Star game from Atlanta. MLB’s leadership evidently did not read the law before launching an economic war against the state of Georgia. Texas is considering similar reforms, and American Airlines is among corporate America’s partisans taking shots at the law without bothering to read it first.

Twitter’s abuse of the sensitive content filter is another form of censorship and the company uses it a huge amount. Twitter deployed it to reduce the reach and engagement of at least 350 conservative accounts in the past year. That tally comes from the Media Research Center’s CensorTrack.org. That’s likely only scratching the surface, given the amount of content on Twitter. While Twitter has not released information on how the use of the sensitive content filter restricts engagement, Facebook has said that the use of similar interstitials has reduced user clicks by 95 percent.

Smithsonian Magazine recently reported on a fascinating new theory which archaeologists believe solves a puzzling mystery regarding the skull of a 5,600-year old woman, found in Northern Italy. The woman’s skull was discovered in a remote corner of an expansive cave, and previous theories assumed the skull had been placed there after her death by prehistoric contemporaries. It now seems probable, according to the scientists, that the skull actually came to rest at the unlikely location as the result of natural forces; mudslides and flood waters. The hypothesis by researchers at the University of Bologna is just the latest example of modern science

While recently touting his infrastructure plan, President Biden griped "the wealthiest 1% of Americans saw their net worth increase by $4 trillion," he then ripped loopholes and deductions corporations used to dodge taxes. But a blistering letter from the leader of a House conservative caucus regarding Biden’s own tax loopholes could foreshadow what Republicans will include in their oversight agenda should they flip the House of Representatives in 2022. "House Democrats used their oversight power to subpoena Trump for his tax returns, but they’ve completely ignored Joe Biden’s abuse of our tax code,"

The White House's decision to push twin sprawling infrastructure packages is complicating its pathway to passage and the Biden administration's messaging strategy. President Joe Biden unveiled his monster $2.25 trillion "American Jobs Plan" in Pittsburgh Wednesday, along with a corporate tax hike framework as administration officials said another massive spending bill would soon follow. But the White House's decision to divide the packages, bundled together as part of the "Build Back Better" infrastructure platform on which Biden campaigned, so far is confusing lawmakers, lobbyists, and experts alike. The president's generous "infrastructure" definition not only means he has plenty of what Republicans see as poison pill spending

The private school for girls in grades 6-12 welcomed students back into the classroom for five-days-a-week instruction on Sept. 9, employing masks and distancing but not COVID-19 vaccines, revamped ventilation or other items being demanded by teachers’ unions. Even so, Oakcrest has thrived. All but one faculty member returned.(Snip) Between 90% and 92% of Catholic schools reopened for full-time in-person instruction

The Pavlovian “Trump did it!” sums up Joe Biden’s fallback excuse when faced with any embarrassment. His own completely optional, self-created, illegal immigration disaster? Trump somehow caused it, despite leaving office with a stable and secure border. Vaccination rates soaring? There would be even more if not for Trump’s mere 1-million-a-day vaccination rate, mere weeks after the rollout of the “experimental” vaccinations that supposedly would take “years” to develop. Chinese aggressiveness? Trump’s provocations again due to all his paranoid talk of travel bans, and a lab-escaped virus. European unwillingness to confront the Chinese? Yep, Trump’s the cause again, with jawboning our friends into paying $100 million more

Too much freedom is a bad thing because it limits the ability of the state to coerce its subjects (“citizens” seems almost archaic as the Great Reset looms) into behavior they otherwise would resist. That’s the basic message explained to Chris Cuomo by a professor of public health policy that CNN favors with its airtime. We lost an incredible amount of the freedom we formerly took for granted when Covid-19 leaked out of a lab in Wuhan, China, and was greeted by world leaders as a pandemic justifying the radical curtailment of liberty and enhancement of their own power.

South Dakota governor Kristi Noem transitioned — at sprinting speed — from Miss Thing to Miss Nothing. On March 8, Gov. Noem expressed joy over a bill passed by the South Dakota Legislature, which would have banned males from women's sports. Then, on March 19, she "returned" the text to the Legislature requesting changes that undid the basic purpose of the bill. Her office issued a Shakespearean press release (except far less interesting than Hamlet's soliloquies), doddering to explain her veto. (Snip) However it's couched, she sank a key bill opposing the imposition of transgenderism on people whom it could harm. And the conservative world finally erupted.

The lie that George Floyd was murdered by racist police officers in Minneapolis has made its way around the world several times over, leaving countless violent riots and more than $2 billion in property damages in its wake, but it seems that the truth is finally putting on its shoes. In June of 2020, 60 percent of surveyed adults deemed George Floyd’s death to be murder at the hands of police officer Derek Chauvin. As of last month, a little more than a third of Americans believe that. That’s a stunning near-reversal of public opinion.

When failed Democratic congressional candidate Rita Hart dropped her petition with the House Administration Committee to “investigate” the 2020 election in Iowa’s Second Congressional District, it revealed far more than the outcome of an obscure Midwestern House race. The querulous tone of her announcement suggested that the withdrawal wasn’t voluntary. A number of Democratic moderates had expressed reservations about overturning state-certified results and opening themselves up to charges of hypocrisy. These representatives won their seats by pledging not to become mindless Myrmidons of the increasingly hyper-partisan House leadership, and know that they will already have enough trouble surviving their next elections because of the president’s broken promise to promote bipartisanship.
