U.S. border agents in recent months arrested two Yemeni men on a terror watchlist in separate incidents as they crossed the border with Mexico illegally, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on Monday. The men, arrested in January and March near a port of entry in California, were on a U.S. government watchlist for terrorism suspects and a "no-fly" list, CBP said in a press release. A group of Republican lawmakers that visited the border in El Paso, Texas, in March said border agents told them during the trip that some people caught crossing the border were on a U.S. terrorism watchlist.

Terrible! When are they letting these two poor victims of systemic islamaphobia free (with a free first class flight to their terrorist HQ and some guns and explosives)? Those racist border patrol need to be fired and arrested immediately!

And? Grant them asylum, let them bring in their extended families, and set them all up on welfare and Social Security. USA needs to atone for its sins, and that's the least we could do.

Some of the other posters are ahead of me. We are not trying to be utterly cynical but we have learned over the years. Its great these two were intercepted but now what. The now what is where it now will become murky. If we had sense, suspected terrorists caught trying to come in should be taken to a nice prison rock pile in the Yukon.

It seems everyone has an opinion about Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ ambition. The Atlantic examined “Kamala Harris’s Ambition Trap.” Bloomberg asked “Is Kamala Harris Too ‘Ambitious’ to Be Vice President?” Over the summer, even the Vice President-elect herself said, "There will be a resistance to your ambition.” Once Harris is actually sworn in, her niece, children’s book author and founder of the Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign, Meena Harris, believes it will change the conversation around ambition once and for all. “It inherently will open the door for more women of color to achieve and it will normalize ambition. Cindy McCain endorsed Democrat Joe Biden for president Tuesday in a rebuke of President Donald Trump by the widow of the GOP's 2008 nominee. Trump has had a fraught relationship with members of John McCain's family since he disparaged the Arizona senator during his 2016 campaign. But the McCains have until now stopped short of endorsing Trump's rivals. Cindy McCain cited the decades long friendship between her family and Biden's and their bond as the parents of children serving in the military. “He supports the troops and knows what it means for someone who has served.”

The summer of 2020 has been a summer defined by agitation. What started in Minnesota following the police killing of George Floyd spread quickly across the nation. This past week, Kenosha, Wisconsin, became the latest flashpoint, as protesters clashed with police and armed vigilantes over the police shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake. One of those vigilantes has been charged with killing two protesters and injuring another. But another Midwestern city — my city — was the center of attention three weeks ago. The USS Constitution is one of the country's first frigates and is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat. It was launched in 1797 in Boston, Massachusetts, and now sits in Baltimore Harbor. Harris' desk has carvings of an eagle surrounded by stars from the Constitution's stern decorations.
