While some truly impressive and legitimate discussions have been coming out of the recent racial turmoil, one sector that has repeatedly proven itself utterly useless is the entertainment sector. (snip)
Their sincerity might have been real, but it was no less of a thoughtless knee-jerk reaction than anything else we’ve seen these past few weeks. Case in point: Lady A(ntebellum) did not even check to see if someone else might be creating under that name. In fact, it turns out someone does create under that name.
And she is a black woman.
And she is not impressed.

Mayor Martin Walsh is declaring racism a public health crisis and is aiming to transfer $12 million from the police overtime budget to help put his order in motion immediately. Walsh said Friday there is a “new urgency” to erase racism in the city and added Boston’s budget for the coming year will reallocate roughly 20% of the police OT allotment to programs for youth and other needs. That will start with $3 million for the Boston Public Health Commission. A new task force, chaired by former U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Wayne Budd, will also review police force policies and equity issues in the department.

The white liberal protesters weren’t expecting this!
A group of dumb Black Lives Matter protesters, mostly guilty white liberals, shut down an intersection for what the media would call a “peaceful protest.”
This is getting really old. Infringing on another person’s rights is not a “peaceful protest” it is thuggery.
And that is what these leftists are getting away with in America today.
The liberal media mob cheers them.
But they stopped the wrong woman.

A new poll has found that black Americans overwhelmingly oppose rioters’ demands of defunding the police.
The YouGov/HuffPost poll found that most Americans do want police reform, such as banning chokeholds, but defunding the police was the least popular policy they asked about.
“Self-described liberals support defunding the police by a 13-point margin,” HuffPost reported. “But nearly every other ideological and demographic group opposes it. Democrats and Democratic leaners oppose it by a 4-percentage point margin, and Black Americans oppose it by a 20-point margin.”
They found that while about a quarter of black Americans support defunding the police, 49 percent oppose the idea.

The imagery couldn’t be more direct. Across the nation, rioting and unrest that has killed black Americans and destroyed black neighborhoods has included the defacement of historic monuments, including those to abolitionists. The last wave of monument destruction, in 2017, largely focused on Confederates and slave holders, erasing all the accomplishments of figures such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson with a scarlet S, for slave-holder. This time, the ignorance has descended even further. Senate Democrats are warning former Vice President Joe Biden against releasing a list of potential Supreme Court picks.
Then-candidate Trump, in 2016, released a list of names he said he would pick from to fill a Supreme Court vacancy, and Biden is facing calls from activists on both the right and left to do the same.
But several Democratic senators are warning Biden, who previously chaired the Judiciary Committee, against doing so.
Sen. Dick Durbin (Ill.), the No. 2 Senate Democrat and a member of the panel, told The Hill that Biden should not emulate Trump, who broke political norms with his list.

One of the judges on the panel overseeing an appeal to force Judge Emmet Sullivan to let the Department of Justice (DOJ) drop its prosecution against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn said Friday that the court might have appointed an "intemperate amicus" to oppose the DOJ.

What are you really seeing as Americans kneel, hands raised in secular prayer, repeating political creeds on the TV news? And that secular foot-washing?
You're witness to neo-Marxist appropriation of Christian symbolism, in the aftermath of the horrifying Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd.
And now, the priests of the secularist left separate the biblical sheep from the goats on the basis of skin color.
Floyd, an African American, was killed by a white cop who has been charged with murder. Most, if not all, Americans were disgusted at that cop's knee on Floyd's neck. And most Americans, of all races, still express grief, seek common understanding, and push for long overdue reforms.

In the last couple of weeks we have witnessed people, most of them white, kneeling before black protestors and activists as a supposed gesture of repentance for their crimes of “white privilege” and tolerating “systemic racism.” The kneeling penitents include not just ordinary people, but police officers, National Guardsmen, and, in a shocking self-debasement of the world’s greatest democratic republic, a gaggle of House Representatives adorned with “culturally appropriated” African kente cloth scarves. White progressive racial masochism is nothing new; Tom Wolfe skewered it brilliantly nearly a half century ago in essays like “Mau-Mauing the Flak-Catchers.” But the current manifestation is more significant and dangerous. It has taken place

Will Joe Biden remain caged in his basement for the rest of the campaign, speaking only via edited video performances? There is a strong argument for his puppet masters to do so, given his inability to maintain mental focus and coherence, even at the price of refusing to participate in the presidential debates that have been customary since Kennedy met Nixon in a Chicago TV studio in 1962.
As I wrote almost a week ago, Biden’s sad mental decline cannot be concealed if he is liberated from his confinement. Yesterday, his handlers must have quickly regretted letting him out

Authorities in Florida have released disturbing surveillance video showing the moment hundreds of looters broke into a closed Walmart and stole more than $100,000 worth of merchandise. The incident took place on the night of May 30 during George Floyd protests in Tampa and the surrounding areas. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on Thursday issued a plea to the public seeking help with identifying the looters who ransacked the Walmart at 2701 East Fletcher Ave. in Tampa.(Snip) The recording shows waves of raiders, some wearing face coverings, others not, racing through the aisles and grabbing merchandise, mostly electronics, including big-screen televisions.

George Will's a funny guy. He is willing to aid our ideological foes for our own good. He will teach us how wrong we've been to support President Trump by facilitating Marxist socialism's stranglehold on what's left of America's Constitution. After fighting for Democrats to win everything this November, he will turn around and help us rebuild a Republican Party in his image for the miserable decades to come.
When we voted for Donald Trump in 2016, weren't we rebelling against not only Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, but also the shriveled and putrid corpse of a Grand Old Party that had long since given up being grand

Strong majorities of Americans oppose the movement to "defund the police" and some of its most significant goals, specifically reshuffling funding away from law enforcement to support mental health, housing and education programs, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll released Friday finds. Nearly two-thirds of Americans oppose calls for defunding police departments, compared to 34% who back the movement, and 60% specifically oppose reducing the budget for police to reallocate it to other public health and social programs, while 39% support that move. But black Americans land differently on the issue, though not overwhelmingly so.

The BBC slipped up during news coverage of George Floyd’s funeral with an image of another George Floyd used to illustrate the black man killed in Minneapolis police custody last month. BBC News’ mistake came late on Tuesday night as it reported on the funeral service for the 46-year-old Houston native that had taken place in his hometown, some hours earlier. Viewers on the BBC News channel were shown an image of the former New York Jets American footballer George Floyd, instead of the man whose death has sparked demonstrations against racism and police brutality around the world. The two destabilizing events recently occurring back-to-back, the response to the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, and the George Floyd rioting, illustrate well how America is now institutionally incapable of making decisions in her own best interests. That is, the overreaction to the disease and under-reaction to the rioting reflect a country long demoralized.
Moreover, if that’s not troubling enough, know that this is a state of being that usually leads to tyranny. Those of us who thought higher education could do little damage while it was shut down were sadly mistaken.
As Antifa-led demonstrators burned and looted American cities in the wake of the tragic murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis cop, academia, like the rest of the American Left, never let a crisis go to waste, even one they helped engender.
“Fittingly, the ideological handmaiden of this violence — academia — has already sprung into action,” Heather Mac Donald wrote in City Journal on May 31, 2020. “The chancellors and presidents of Harvard, the University of Arizona, the University of Pennsylvania, and

Several prominent liberal groups are joining the push by some Democrats to expand the Supreme Court to eleven justices, a move designed to eliminate the Court’s current 5-4 conservative majority.
An open letter signed by several organizations backs a plan to expand the Court to eleven members:
The activist conservatives who control the Supreme Court are poised to trample existing rights, from reproductive freedom to LGBTQ rights — and to block any significant progressive legislation in the future on urgent crises from climate change to health care to gun safety.

The current inflamed condition of political debate presents opportunities as great as its challenges. (Snip) After imposing reforms on police treatment of suspects, and providing for special relief for those who suffered severe economic loss because of the inability of American urban police to protect thousands of business establishments from being trashed and torched, the next priority should be a comprehensive reform of American criminal law.
It has been intensely irritating to hear commentators regularly refer to the American legal system as “the envy of the world,” and make the claim that 99 percent of the membership of the FBI and less exalted police forces are entirely admirable people.

It is widely known that our betters say it’s OK to protest in massive groups despite the risk of coronavirus transmission, but small gatherings not in support of Black Lives Matter are still unacceptable. Now we’re told that it’s also fine for protests to turn violent as long as it happens for the “right” reason. Stacey Abrams, the less-than-graceful loser of Georgia’s 2018 Democratic gubernatorial election, took a few hours off from her embarrassing bid to become Joe Biden’s running mate to accuse the Peach State’s leadership of voter suppression. She has appeared on various talking-head shows and claims the Georgia Secretary of State was guilty of “malfeasance.” Abrams provided no evidence to support this charge, of course, other than the presence of long lines at the polls in urban counties, where elections inevitably devolve into utter chaos pursuant to the incompetence of their Democratic election officials. Abrams inevitably insisted the root problem was Republican skulduggery.

Last Friday's stunning jobs report revealed the economy is roaring back under the leadership of President Trump, much to the misery of Joe Biden and the Washington political establishment.
The economy added 2.5 million jobs in May, the largest one-month gain in our nation's history. There’s still much work to be done, but Trump’s strong economic policy before and during the coronavirus pandemic ensures the economy will bounce back greater than ever.
Before the pandemic artificially shut down the economy, Trump’s policies led to a historic low unemployment rate and steady wage growth.

A group of activists sued Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser this week over her decision to paint “Black Lives Matter” down two blocks of 16th Street, which leads to the White House, saying she violated the First Amendment and showed favoritism to “the Black Lives Matter cult orthodoxy.”
The lawsuit, filed in federal court on Wednesday, complained Ms. Bowser’s move, as well as her decision to rename a nearby street “Black Lives Matter Plaza,” came at the taxpayers’ expense but showed a preference for one faith — or belief — over others.

There are seminal moments in American history that test every fiber of our nation’s soul.
We are facing one now. Revolutionary forces are causing every American citizen to question which direction the country is heading. To determine the outcome, we must examine our nation’s history to project ourselves forward into the future.
Once again, tyranny and treachery are in our midst, and although we feel we’ve descended into a hellish state of existence, we must never forget, hell is conquerable.

America is reeling. Before we could emerge from the fog of Covid-19, we were thrust into the saga of the George Floyd killing and the subsequent unrest. When events like this play out before a nation on video, raw emotion can erupt. In this case, it was amplified by shelter-in-place orders, massive unemployment claims, and small businesses teetering on extinction.
Over the past two weeks, we have seen peaceful protests, but also looting, businesses torched, attacks on police, and the desecration of some of the nation’s most revered memorials. All of this is numbing. Recently, I thought that I had finally turned the corner on my anger

Yesterday, I pointed out that the annual number of homicides in Baltimore was around 215 in the five years before the left and the Obama administration undermined the police force there following the death of Freddy Gray. In the five years since, the average number of homicides per year is around 335.
That’s 625 excess deaths.
How many of the lives lost were black lives? To me it doesn’t matter. Black lives and white lives are of equal value. However, the racial breakdown should matter to the BlackLivesMatter movement.
According to this article in the Baltimore Sun, nearly all of Baltimore’s homicide victims in 2019 were black.

Joe Biden is reaching heights that Hillary Clinton never did this late in the campaign against Donald Trump. The former vice president holds a significant national lead of around 10 points and is over 50% support.
Yet a look at recent polls suggests Trump is outperforming where he was four years ago with a key part of the Democratic coalition: Hispanics. This could have implications for what electoral strategy Biden may need to take into the fall if he is to beat the President.
Clinton crushed Trump with Hispanic registered voters in the final 2016 preelection polls. She led by 61% to 23%.

That’s right. No less an authority than the New York Times informs us that the Nick Jr. cartoon--featuring a squad of canines running around helping other creatures--is too positive toward the cops.
After the show tweeted an appeal for black voices to be heard, the commenters started growling: “Defund the paw patrol.” “Euthanize the police dog.” “All dogs go to heaven, except the class traitors in the Paw Patrol.”

Black Lives Matter is a political advocacy group, “[f]ounded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer,” according to the group’s website. Never mind that the George Zimmerman trial was a complete fraud, as Joel Gilbert brilliantly explained in his recent book and movie, “The Trayvon Hoax: Unmasking the Witness Fraud that Divided America.”
BLM is a self-described global network, which explains why protests and riots sprang up seemingly spontaneously all over the world after George Floyd’s death. Starting in Minneapolis, protests quickly spread to far off locales including New Zealand, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

The recent turmoil that has gripped our nation in the form of riots, looting, arson, and other criminal acts is another reason why President Trump will be re-elected in a landslide. In driving the staff of the New York Times positively batty (including woke hostage victim and executive editor Dean Baquet), Cotton singlehandedly threw a wrench into the workings of America's premier liberal institution.
