The Minneapolis City Council on Friday unanimously voted a resolution to replace the police with a ‘community-led public safety system.’Get out while you can!The radical left is pushing to “defund the police” following the death of George Floyd. By “defund the police,” the left means replacing the police with Sharia patrol, Black Panthers, La Raza and other anti-Christian, anti-white social justice enforcers.Reuters reported: The Minneapolis City Council on Friday unanimously passed a resolution to pursue a community-led public safety system to replace the police department following the death of George Floyd

In violation of the City Charter that requires a police department funded by the City Council, so a lawsuit will be filed.

Maybe they should name it The Committee For Public Safety. That hasn't been used in a while.

What about all those denials from the city councilwoman on CNN that they didn't actually mean to get rid of the police? Democrats cannot be trusted with power. They use it to tyrannize the law abiding but meekly turn over power to the criminals in their city.

Minneapolis just became the least desirable place to live in the entire country, followed closely by Seattle. You would be safer in downtown Detroit. What’s worrying me is that the ignorant clowns that voted these liberal morons into office might want to move to my town. Please just put a fence around Minneapolis and lock the gates. Make them apply for a visa if they want to migrate.

If any of the city council depends on the police for personal protection, that should end immediately. I suppose Nation of Islam could protect them, but can they afford to grease the palms?

The rule of law and order is crumbling one city at a time. Anarchy and insanity are ruling the day. Murder scene? Send in social workers that hand out referral sheets for social services.

How ironic is it that police unions all over the USA are among the largest contributors to the DNC? Something tells me this move in Minneapolis is merely symbolic, just another way for the Dems to fool their brain-dead electorate into thinking they're actually getting somewhere. Without the media's complicity, the Dems would be seen for the racist, Godless, self-worshipping megalomaniacs they are. They say the police are committing genocide against the blacks? How about Planned Parenthood aborting hundreds of thousands of black babies every year. Ever wonder why the percentage of blacks in the USA has been steady at 12% for, oh, 60 years?

From the comment section on the original article page: Problem is, that city and all other democrat socialist run cities will be a forward operating bases from which to resupply, plan, and continue the attack on red states and their cities The failure to (have) nipped these clowns in the bud over the last fifty years will be the undoing of the USA.

Welcome to Starnesville. Things are beginning to look a lot like Part III in Atlas Shrugged. The only difference in our real lives is that people voted in Hank Reardon as president. I'm looking forward to the twist ending.

If they actually “abolish” the Minneapolis Police Dept. That misguided effort will probably amount to a name change for the front line responders from police officers to something nice like community public service officers in a bait and switch political move. I have been around for awhile and I can’t see any social workers wanting to be first to respond to volatile domestic abuse calls, maybe one time and after they get their asses kicked or get shot, no more. If they really abolish the police department and fire all the armed and trained police officers and replace them with unarmed community public service officers hired in accordance with Democrat identity politics, the law of the jungle will reign, with armed violent criminals running loose all over their city. Just about all their viable and critical businesses will move out, or never return, because without effective policing in the city, it will be impossible for businesses to obtain affordable insurance to cover their assets and property. Get ready to hear about all the “food deserts” popping up throughout the low income and minority “communities” there.

And the sane people are terrified, and getting armed and organized into neighborhood groups to protect themselves from these bozos, and the criminal class....which is going nowhere, but is laughing their heads off.

After the Freddy Gray episode in Baltimore, the cops realized no one had their backs, least of all the mayor or the state's attorney, both black women who were out to blame the cops for everything. The cops in Baltimore are now being careful to protect themselves at all costs. And the murder rate in Baltimore has risen dramatically.
And now Minneapolis will make Baltimore look like a picnic. These leftists have no connection with reality.

A community-led public safety system...here comes the Black Panthers and other groups like the jihadi muzzies, etc. and maybe even the gang bangers. Lots of luck with that one Minneapolis. That city and even that state should be avoided like the plague.

Those who do not know their history are bound to repeat it. During the French Revolution they too appointed their Committee of Public Safety, one of whose leaders was the notorious Robespierre. The worst excesses of the Reign of Terror took place under its direction. "Soviet" too started as a duly elected and assembled local committee to preserve the peace, safety of, and to direct the local community and finished up with the Overarching Supreme Soviet of Russia and its dependent states. In both situations their main job was identification and murder of those deemed and declared enemies of the revolution, most of whom members of other groups that had made up he entire Revolutionary Movement. Be careful what you wish for.

Largest Lutheran Church on the planet is in Mpls. We are leaving to join another church (this time Missouri Synod) because we refuse to step foot in this wretched city ever again! Good bye Minneapolis! Enjoy!

#35, I hope The Misouri Synod is as great as it was decades ago. My Missouri Chruch was destoyed by an alledeged Missori Synod Luterhan Pastor. I don't know what he was, but he undermined our church that it totally fell apart. Two other non-Lutheran churches have occcupied that building. I have no clue as to what they are all about. Excepy they definitely are not MSLC.

This is going to get very, very ugly, and a good bit of blood will be shed that didn't have to be shed, as these idiots learn a hard lesson about real world crime.
Sometimes the only way a person learns is by sitting on that hot stove and getting third degree burns on their entire backside. This is looking like one of those times.
Stand clear.
