How do we fight the woke militants?

Walker Percy, Love In The Ruins: Now in these dread latter days of the old violent beloved U.S.A. and of the Christ-forgetting Christ-haunted death-dealing Western world I came to myself in a grove of young pines and the question came to me: has it happened at last? Two more hours should tell the story. One way or the other. Either I am right and a catastrophe will occur, or it won’t and I’m crazy. In either case the outlook is not so good.

Isn't this a question we are all asking? What do we do to fight back? Our leadership is quaking in their boots. Even my local craft company is pledging allegiance to Black Lives Matter. I agree: "One thing I believe conservatives have to be willing to do is to withdraw from supporting public and private institutions that endorse and implement wokeness. Take your money and your labor away. Stop supporting institutions and organizations that are working against you. If we don’t know yet how to effectively fight the putsch, at least we can stop supporting the organizations that putschists have conquered. Make leaders who capitulate to the mob pay a price. When leadership stands firm, reward them." Not sure how my local craft supply company will fight racism, but if they were barring the door to people of color, then I agree, stop doing that. Otherwise, how were craft supplies racist before this latest outrage?

The term "militant" comes from the word military, and implies that these people are using force to accomplish their goals. After a bit of thought about the words used, this becomes a self-answering question. If they are "militants", we use force against them, up to and including deadly force, if required. Letting "militants" get away with it encourages more illegal use of force against us, and that is very stupid, and very counter productive.

Standing tall, yelling 'NO' loudly and being armed and ready to defend ourselves, our families, and our nation. These 'woke' children will slink away as the cowards they are if vigorously opposed. Soros isn't paying them enough to die for their beliefs. Yes, some will fire back but a fusillade of lead will prevail.

I would love to see the "militant" cutie Ninja boys, all of them, in their Seattle cop free zone run up against a company of 101 Airborne or even a squad of Seals. The fight would be over in minutes.. These morons and most of their journalista buddies have not the remotest clue what militant is.

I have read this and find the questions very disturbing. Where are the Christians who reject Moralistic Therapeutic Deism in favor of doctrine? How do the hollowed out churches become strong enough to push back against the "woke" militants? Who can survive against the people bent and determined to destroy reputations and careers? These are evil people. Who will fight, and how?

When Bill Clinton was the subject of impeachment, CSPAN changed it's call-in procedures to alternately sample Democrat and Republican because the calls were overwhelmingly anti-Clinton. Today, we voluntarily do this for CSPAN and every other institution by completely and utterly failing to plant an individual flag on any topic that is contrarian to statist doctrine. The can do two things today that would help immensely: 1. Get on your social media and post a soft "No." Not everybody can brazenly call out BLM, or the Democrats, or Antifa for the fascists that they are, but you can usually get away with a soft no. Look for anything written or said by a conservative African-American and repost it without comment. None is needed. The value is in letting other kindred spirits know they are not alone. (We're like closeted Gays in the 1950's !) The silence is so overwhelming and universal that any contrarian sentiment has great value. 2. Get a throw-away email address, create comment accounts on media outlets, and start posting your a) your point of view and b) that you're afraid of punishment by the Left for speaking your mind candidly. Again, others like you need to know they are not alone.

In the televised service, we got the racial sensitivity / go out and vote speech from the preacher last Sunday. My guess is that he's trying to keep our church from being burned. (However, this is a very liberal church which even has a new Sunday school class called the Progressive Class.) My grand niece was seen on Facebook last week carrying a No Justice No Peace sign. Her mother, whom I thought was conservative, "Liked" the picture. And lastly two nights ago I was interesting in participating in sewing group on Facebook----just sewing, nothing political in the topic. In order to join, I had to agree that Black Lives Matter would be supported in the group and that any insensitive comments, including "All Lives Matter," would be cause of immediate removal. I went ahead and joined the group, and then the third posting down was a Black Lives Matter slogan. Just out of the blue---nothing to do with the topic of the group. Needless to say, I immediately officially left the group. It is all around us.

We use force that is of sufficient quantity and quality to defeat them. We use intelligence gathering to arrest and jail their leaders. In Seattle we send in battle hardened National Guard who spent time in Iraq and other dumps in the Middle East and have vast experience dealing with third rate bullies! A soy boy in Seattle doesn't match a terrorist that has been at war for 30 years in Iraq!

Some conservatives have begun speculating the unrest in American cities—even as late as Monday night in Washington, DC, as “protestors” unsuccessfully worked to tear down a statue of Andrew Jackson and set up an autonomous zone across the street from the White House—may in part be an attempt to affect the upcoming presidential election, with the chaos and violence intended to make it as difficult as possible for Donald Trump to win a second term. Lending credence to this idea is the fact that at least one board member of Thousand Currents...

Ross Douthat’s column today centers on the decadence that has befallen the American system of government. Excerpts: It might surprise contemporary Americans that for most of our history, what we call “culture war” debates — arguments about rights, social justice, the moral organization of society — were often settled through democratic deliberation, rather than the kind of ruling the Supreme Court just delivered on gay and transgender civil rights. Congress debated and passed laws. State legislatures did the same. Constitutional amendments were proposed, passed, ratified — and when necessary, repealed.

For decades, the Navy's leading supplier of high-strength steel for submarines provided subpar metal because one of the company's longtime employees falsified lab results — putting sailors at greater risk in the event of collisions or other impacts, federal prosecutors said in court filings Monday. The supplier, Kansas City-based Bradken Inc., paid $10.9 million as part of a deferred prosecution agreement, the Justice Department said.     Corrections*

As I have watched Confederate monuments being removed by state and local governments, and sometimes by the forceful will of the American people, the fact that 10 U.S. Army installations are named for Confederate officers has weighed on me. That number includes the Army’s largest base, one very special to many in uniform: Fort Bragg, in North Carolina.

Sometimes big political developments arrive in the country like Sandburg’s fog, on little cat feet, silent and unnoticed until they envelop the nation. The emergence of Donald Trump four years ago is an example. Though a loud and clamorous candidate, he seemed to many like a kind of political clown destined for defeat. Establishment politicians believed almost to a person that the “blue wall” of Democratic electoral dominance would hold against this guy. The Midwest would stay solid, and Hillary Clinton would win the presidency.

lasdair MacIntyre, from After Virtue: But protest is now almost entirely that negative phenomenon which characteristically occurs as a reaction to the alleged invasion of someone’s rights in the name of someone else’s utility. The self-assertive shrillness of protest arises because the facts of incommensurability ensure that protesters can never win an argument; the indignant selfrighteousness of protest arises because the facts of incommensurability ensure equally that the protesters can never lose an argument either.
