A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman on Thursday accused the U.S. Army of sending the coronavirus to China, a charge expected to be countered by the Trump administration as disinformation. Zhao Lijan, spokesperson and deputy director general of the Foreign Ministry information department, made the claim on Twitter, a social media platform banned in China. Mr. Zhao asked in a tweet when the first patient to contract the disease caused by the virus was detected and how many people were infected. “What are the names of the hospitals? It might be U.S. army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan,” he wrote. “Be transparent! Make public your data!
Joy Behar is taking time off from hosting ABC's The View over concerns for her health amid the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Behar's announcement is set to air on Friday in a pretaped episode of the news and commentary show that she co-hosts with Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain, and Sunny Hostin, according to Variety. No other host is planning on taking time off. The show will be filmed without a live audience.

With some K-12 school districts and administrators across America panicking and attempting to get ahead of any ‘outbreak’ of the coronavirus, more districts are opting for students to stay home. I’d be willing to bet that most students thoroughly enjoy this. It’s kind of like having ‘snow days.’ However, what might be in store for these students could be far more important than a snow day, as it’s possible that the virus may herald a revolutionary shift in education. Throughout the years, American homeschooling and online K-12 education has become far more popular and realistic than ‘brick and mortar’ public schools want to admit.

But new data are undermining this narrative. The Trump administration will suspend travel between European countries and the United States for 30 days as the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic continues to grow.
The measure will go into effect at midnight Friday, Trump said during a nationally televised message from the White House on Wednesday. He said the "strong but necessary" restrictions would not apply to the United Kingdom.
After his address, Trump also stressed the travel restriction applies to people and will not impact trade.
