Joy Behar is taking time off from hosting ABC's The View over concerns for her health amid the outbreak of the coronavirus. Behar's announcement is set to air on Friday in a pretaped episode of the news and commentary show that she co-hosts with Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain, and Sunny Hostin, according to Variety. No other host is planning on taking time off. The show will be filmed without a live audience. None of the hosts of the show nor any staff workers have been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus, but Behar has decided to stay home at the urging of her daughter.

It's interesting that none of the hosts or staff have the virus. I don't know a single person who has it. I'd bet that most people don't know anyone who has it. The hype on the whole thing is completely overboard.

Doctors, nurses, all healthcare workers 'at risk' can't just walk away. She is a coward but what else is new in a Democrat! The people most at risk aren't pampered TV celebrities, but those that will face the virus up close and personal in ERs, Hospital beds and ICUs. After this is over and doctors, nurses and other helthcare workers have died, Joy won't say a peep. Joy, you can be replaced by hundreds of talented talking heads working in restaurants all over LA. But doctors, nurses and other highly trained healthcare professionals will take years to replace.

What will the gals do without audience participation? Their comments are designed to elicit cheers, boos, oohs and aahs. The show's format will simply not work without the peanut gallery's emotional responses. Their grand pronouncements, high dudgeon and virtue signaling will fall flat without the immediate feedback. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) attacked President Donald Trump on Friday after the president declared a national state of emergency to fight the spread of the deadly COVID-19 coronavirus. Schumer said: I’m pleased the president heeded our calls to invoke the Stafford Act to extend vital financial assistance to help keep communities safe from the coronavirus outbreak. I urge New York and other states to immediately request these newly available funds and for the Trump administration to approve these requests without delay. Schumer also warned the president not to “overstep his authority” in dealing with the spread of the coronavirus.

Repeatedly disgraced former Obama administration national security adviser Ben Rhodes stepped in it mightily Wednesday by daring to suggest without evidence that the coronavirus outbreak would have been handled better under his former boss. Look: [tweet] While the tweet doesn’t boast a ratio, in large part because of Obama sycophants who falsely view former President Barack Hussein Obama as an infallible, majestic figure outnumbering those who view him realistically, it did attract some jarring criticism. Why? Because during the former president’s eight year veritable reign of terror, millions of Americans were infected by and at least 12,500 died from the swine flu.

It gets very hard to ask questions when nearly all of the media and government and many of those you live near and work with are all wringing their hands in unison. COVID-19 or coronavirus has many scared and scrambling. But who’s asking questions beyond, “What do we do now!?” The psychology around this virus and the way it's being covered is very strange. We know President Trump began taking action in January to mitigate travel between China and the United States. Media and health officials knew about coronavirus then. Maybe you heard a passing blip about a cruise ship, but certainly nothing like this.

Again, statements like these aren't helping. We already have CNN calling President Trump a racist and xenophobe for using accurate terms like "foreign virus" to describe the COVID-19 outbreak. But Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) is now accusing her constituents of more of the same. "Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have seen not only the spreading of the virus but also a rapid spreading of racism and xenophobia," Pressley said at a recent hearing. Of all the frustrations around the government response to the coronavirus outbreak, the lack of testing capacity and development tops the charts. This morning, however, the Trump administration plans to unleash the private sector and state governments in developing new and more rapid testing. Under an emergency authorization, the FDA has told Roche to begin producing a new COVID-19 test that will expand capacity on an exponential scale: The Food and Drug Administration granted “emergency use authorization” to the test, which runs on Roche Holding AG’s cobas 6800/8800 systems. The 8800 system is capable of testing 4,128 patients a day,

In old movies, before movies became overtly political, Hollywood writers were adept at creating utterly meaningless speeches for their political characters. These speeches sounded good but meant nothing. Think of a whole speech filled with various iterations of the line from Toy Story – “To infinity and beyond” – which seems aspirational but is actually nonsense. Much the same can be said about Joe Biden’s grand announcement that he has a plan to combat coronavirus. Hidden behind his banal platitudes was something more disturbing: When Biden moved on from criticizing Trump’s actions for minimizing coronavirus’s impact, he offered a plan

The "gun problem" for the Democrats and the left is a thorny issue that Joe Biden is realizing cuts right across demographic lines, including even historic Democrat-supporting factory workers who happen to own a gun or two. No one questions that the driving force to abolish the Second Amendment, or simply confiscate guns in spite of the Second Amendment, is a pet project of the coastal elites (along with a Texas elite named Beto O'Rourke) who know in their heart of hearts how we should be behaving ourselves in a de-militarized society where only the police and elites themselves enjoy the privilege having guns around.
