Democrats Oppose Trump’s EU Travel Ban

Original Article

RUSH: Well, lo and behold, they have done it. The Democrats have come out officially opposing Trump’s travel ban. By the way, don’t you like the fact that Trump did not include the U.K. because they’re getting out of the European Union — hee-hee-hee-hee — Brexit, don’t you know. So Democrats oppose travel ban. A No Ban Act has been introduced by representative Judy Chu, Democrat, California, cosponsored by 219 House Democrats. The bill will roll back all of Trump’s travel restrictions and it will require that Trump only issue a restriction when required to address a compelling government interest.

Comments:

Exactly how do Democrats define “a compelling government interest” if the health, well-being and safety of this country’s citizens, including Democrats, are not considered to be “compelling government interests”? The CDC has reported that Europe is the new epicenter of the coronavirus with 70 percent of new cases originating there, and the Democrats want to restrict President Trump’s restriction on travel to the States from Europe. Politics!

What’s new? As the leftist and liberal Democrats also opposed President Trump’s travel ban for all non-US citizens flying from China to the USA, calling Trump a racist and a xenophobic. Authoritative medical experts say that ban gave the US time to get ready to respond by keeping a lot of non-citizens out of the USA who would have been carrying the corona virus causing it to rapidly spread across the USA.

Now that the number of new people infected with the coronavirus in China is slowing down, the country's Communist Party is ratcheting up threats against the West, with a particularly nasty warning about access to life-saving drugs aimed at the United States.(Snip)The article also claimed that China could impose pharmaceutical export controls which would plunge America into "the mighty sea of coronavirus." The disturbing threats made during a global pandemic as well as the scary consequences if that threat becomes real highlight just how tight China's grip is on the global supply chain. Already, the Food and Drug Administration has announced the first drug shortage related to the coronavirus.

First of all, Wuhan is a place and not a race, and to identify the coronavirus by its place of origin, like naming the Ebola Virus for a river in Zaire, is not racist or xenophobic — it's merely accurate. There is no racism or xenophobia in labeling an infection "Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever" or calling something "Lyme Disease" after a nearby town in Ohio. What calling this latest virus the Wuhan Virus is is a reminder of the multiple contagions China has spawned and released on an unsuspecting world.

Never let it be said that Bernie Sanders isn't doing his level best to spread fear and panic across America. At a doom-and-gloom press conference today, Sanders pleaded with Trump to pay for everyone to be tested for COVID-19, demanded paid leave for all, and generally transplanted his political agenda onto the coronavirus response that the U.S. should make. How convenient. But most of all, Sanders is telling Americans that they are in grave danger because the president has fallen down on the job. And the ultimate cost of Trump's incompetence will be hundreds of thousands of dead.

"People can get tested according to a priority structure, and it's not enough testing. It's just as simple as that," de Blasio said, later claiming that the city has been "pleading" with the federal government for additional testing. "Here's the reality. This is a war-like situation. We're in a wartime scenario with a 'Mar-a-Lago attitude' being used by the federal government, right?"

On Sunday evening, the remaining candidates with a real shot at the Democratic nomination will meet in Washington amid a pandemic to state why they should be chosen to lead the nation. In many ways, the debate will vary from all others held since last summer. Instead of a large and diverse field of candidates, only two old, white men remain. And instead of testing their styles and one-liners in front of a crowd, this meeting will lack an audience. With so much stripped away, the candidates will either shine or fail.
