A Pep Talk for America

On the menu today: a pep talk as America enters scary times in the era of coronavirus, why there isn’t a “moral hazard” factor in the discussions about helping businesses right now, what the coronavirus illuminates about illegal immigration, and the Sanders socialist revolution “berns” out.
We Will Get Through the Coronavirus. We Get Through Most Everything.
We’re living through history. Italy’s more or less locked down completely, colleges are moving the rest of the semester online, candidates are canceling political rallies, schools are closing for several weeks around the world, Washington State is enacting prohibitions on large gatherings, and the NCAA is contemplating March Madness with no fans in the stands.

I’m still having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that 32 Americans have died of the Kung Flu while 8000 or so have died this year of the regular flu. Dead is dead. I guess the Wuhan Flu is a hate crime and regular flu is just an average Chicago drive by shooting and warrants no special attention.

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." H L Mencken I'm already wondering what the next great scare will be. It will likely appear in October.

#2 reminds me to another Mencken quote . . . with a slight update:
"Liberalism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy"

#1, I think the number of regular flu deaths so far this season is closer to 20,000.
I’m sick to death (pun intended) of the whole idiotic nonsense. Rush is right - the left and the media, but I repeat myself, have weaponized what is basically a cold in an effort to bring on the much desired recession and further chaos in an effort to get Trump. Does anyone in this country truly believe that we would be healthier and less at risk with Biden at the wheel? This whole thing is ridiculous, absurd and downright evil.
My daughter lives in the suburbs outside DC and I’m heading up there this weekend for the birth of our first grandchild. She tells me that panic has ensued, the schools are closing and the supermarkets are being stripped bare. Thank God sanity still reigns here in South Carolina, but I may be taking cases of food with me in my car when I drive up there.
Get a grip, people!

Is Trump a racist Euro-phobe for banning flights from Europe? Shouldn't the Marxists find a few judges to stop his hate so their "concern" against Trump's racism goes to the Supremes?
Oh, and there's plenty of toilet paper here in east Oklahoma. The zombie apocalypse probably won't hit here. The reality dust in flyover country runs pretty thick, so we can send you a square. No charge. Just pay for postage.

I've been saying this all along that this virus scare was whipped up by the dims and msm for one purpose and one purpose only - to damage the President. Those lousy evil people.

#1, good concept but this flu season the number dead from conventional flu is more like 20,000.....totally ignored.
20,000 die in the USA in four months and nobody bats an eye. 4,000 die in China, a few dozen in the USA of a different version of the flu and suddenly it is mass hysteria, how in the hell does that work?
I am in my late 60s, health in general, and am not worried about this. I wash my hands when I come back from being out in public, but I do what I need to do.
This is still overblown, but with the media hysteria, I think Trump was forced to act. Let's hope this stops and the ridiculous hysteria dies down soon.

Much of the frenzy is being whipped up by the left wing media and the democrats, but I repeat myself. Russia-gate couldn't get rid of Trump, impeachment couldn't do it so now the left has weaponized a virus, which doesn't seem half as destructive as the annual flu, in order to damage Trump going into the election.
I've never seen a more despicable political party than the democrats and their puppets in the media. They would destroy the entire economy to get Trump and they don't care who gets hurt by it.

Read Defoe's Journal of the Plague Year if you really want to be frightened. A city filled with rats. Fleas jump from the rats to the humans and infect them, but no one is aware of this actual cause. Paranoia reigns. We will get through this, people. Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden present a far greater threat to America than this virus.

I did see several people with jumbo packages of t.p. walking around town today. Get. A. Grip. 18,000 flu deaths is the average in the U.S. per year. How many from Covid-19 so far? Bueller? Schumer? Wolf?

The Democrat party is a virus!
The fake news media is a virus!
Need to fumigate them both.
And shouldn’t we be condemning China for starting this ...maybe on purpose?
