A Missouri man referenced Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh as he allegedly plotted to blow up a courthouse, according to reports.
Joseph Lumetta, 35, of Warrenton, was charged last week for making threats to the Warren County Courthouse, where he has a trial set for later this month, KMOV reports.

A Long Island man has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and prostitution charges after admitting that for four years he operated a brothel out of his parents' basement, where women were plied with crack cocaine and heroin.
Raymond Rodio III, 48, from Sound Beach, New York, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts of sex trafficking, criminal sale of a controlled substance and promoting prostitution. Rodio is expected to be sentenced to more than nine years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, when he goes before a judge on March 9, reported Patch.com. Orange County in California is seeing a recidivism rate of more than 25% for illegal immigrants it has released under the state’s sanctuary law, according to new data the sheriff’s department released and ICE highlighted this week. Migrants who were released then rearrested for new crimes had charges of rape, domestic violence, DUI and child sex offenses.
In 2019, Orange County said it got requests from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to turn over 1,507 inmates. It did release 492 of them to ICE after they’d completed their sentences, but 1,105 were put back on the streets under the terms of the state’s sanctuary

There is no shortage of blame to go around for the impeachment follies that wasted America’s time for the past five months. While the majority of Democrats sat as Trump commended Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., for his work on opportunity zones, Sinema stood and applauded her colleague.
Opportunity zones were created in tandem with the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. They provide tax advantages for certain investments in lower income areas.

Canada was one of the last major countries to make arrangements to bring its citizens back from China. The government also delayed making the decision that those returning from China be quarantined. There is a simple explanation for why it took so long for the Canadian government to act. It’s not a big deal. Some conservatives, rejoicing that impeachment turned into yet another of #TheResistance’s political train wrecks and that President Trump is likely to be reelected by a bigger margin than in 2016, expect that a chastened ruling class will return to respecting the rest of us. They are mistaken.
Trump’s reelection, by itself, cannot protect us. The ruling class’s intolerance of the 2016 election’s results was intolerance of us.

Bitter Democrats sat on their butts for record black unemployment, for record jobs numbers, for record wage gains and near the end of President Trump’s speech they even sat when President Trump thanked the “Hand of Almighty God” for blessing this great nation.

A protester and father of a Parkland shooting victim was booted from President Trump’s State of the Union address after shouting from the gallery about gun control.
The man, Fred Guttenberg, made the brief interruption after Trump vowed to “always protect your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.”
He was there as a guest of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who turned to the gallery with a stern look after the disruption and muttered something under her breath.
Guttenberg’s 14-year-old daughter Jaime was gunned down, along with 16 others, in the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in 2018.
President Trump's SOTU speech Tuesday night was spectacular on every level. It was unabashedly pro-American, pro-law-enforcement, pro-border security, pro-religious freedom, pro-life, pro-school choice and pro-the American job and economic comeback, and then some; there was so much more, all of it positive, optimistic. This president has indeed begun to make America great again.
Despite the Democrats' fervent attempts to see him removed from office, President Trump has succeeded beyond all expectations for the good of the nation. This is what so enrages the left; the man has done in three years what they have promised their voters for sixty-plus years but never accomplished -- on purpose.
On Tuesday night, two very different events took place. The first was President Trump’s State of the Union speech, one that showcased incredibly good news about the state of America today, soaring rhetoric, and moving human interest stories. That’s what this post is about. The other event was the embarrassing Democrat temper tantrum, something that we’ll save for a less uplifting, but perhaps more amusing, post.

Two different events played out on the floor of the House on Tuesday night. The first was President Trump’s powerful, moving, uplifting, and optimistic State of the Union speech. The second was the immature, arrogant, intemperate, and really disgusting temper tantrum in which Democrats indulged.
The most obvious sign of a complete mental breakdown on the left was Nancy Pelosi’s conduct during the speech. Her petulant behavior could not be missed because she was seated behind the president, to his left. Whenever the camera was on Trump, it was on Pelosi too.
Pelosi's hissy fit first showed itself when Pelosi refused to give Trump the traditional formal introduction.
President Trump is absolutely sitting on top of the world. This is the highest point of his presidency so far.
Consider what has happened in the last four days, and the reasons become clear. On Saturday, Republican senators stuck together. In voting not to prolong a farcical Senate trial with a predetermined outcome, they refused to honor the politically motivated impeachment that House Democrats brought on a flimsy pretext.
On Sunday, the Trump campaign aired ads during the Super Bowl. He advertised to a politically mixed sports crowd, but the point of the ads was not to rile up his base the way most candidates do during primary season.
Donald Trump served various television news personalities a lunch described by one White House guest as soup and filet of sole Tuesday—but soon the assembled anchorpeople were eating out of his hand.
Much to the disappointment of folks at CNN, nobody at the long table—who included NBC’s Lester Holt and Chuck Todd, ABC’s David Muir and George Stephanopoulos, and CBS’s Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan—bothered to ask why the president had gone out of his way to exclude the cable network run by Trump’s former friend Jeff Zucker.

How in hell is that possible?
Because the intellectual titans who insist that they can (if only we give them sufficiently uncontested powers of official coercion) impose expert rational “scientific” management on everything from health care to global energy markets in reality cannot organize a two-car parade in Toeterville. Our would-be managers and planners are, in fact, useless as teats on a boar hog.

Will Rogers famously quipped, “I’m not a member of any organized political party. I’m a Democrat.” Monday’s Iowa caucuses certainly confirmed the Democratic penchant for chaos. They also highlighted the party’s suicidal tendencies. Any doubt on this score should be cleared up by Bernie Sanders’ Iowa showing, the ulcers it is causing at the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and the glee it inspires among Republicans. For the GOP, his campaign has no downside. If Sanders is again denied the Democratic nomination due to DNC skulduggery, his supporters will stay home in November. If he captures the nomination, Trump will crush him.
This view is not restricted to the GOP.
Before tonight’s State of the Union, the White House told reporters to expect a low-key presentation by the president. That was what we got, in style–relatively subdued. The content, on the other hand, was dynamite. More than anything, the speech was a reminder of what an excellent record the president has to run on in November. In both domestic and foreign policy, his achievements are essentially unarguable.
This puts the Democrats in a tough spot. Through the first half of the speech, President Trump reeled off one item of good news after another: Record low unemployment! Lowest black unemployment ever! Lowest Hispanic unemployment ever! Rising wages, especially at the bottom!
Wow, that was one hell of a State of the Union Address. President Trump seized the center with a powerful, patriotic and utterly centrist speech.
And then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reinforced his message with her oh-so-symbolic ripping up of the text. What, other than channeling the alienation of the Democratic base from the great American center, was she thinking?
This was the very best of Trump — generous, bipartisan (with a few barbs) and good-spirited. He not only got congressional Democrats to stand and cheer, but he also credited the legislators in the room for working together across party lines to do right by America.

The NY Times has a follow up report on the disaster created by the app intended to streamline reporting of the Iowa caucus results. A kayaker who disappeared during a week-long solo trip in the Florida Everglades was rescued Monday after days floating on his back in the chilly waters, authorities said.
