Democrats reap bitter
fruits of impeachment as
Trump reaches his apex

President Trump is absolutely sitting on top of the world. This is the highest point of his presidency so far. Consider what has happened in the last four days, and the reasons become clear. On Saturday, Republican senators stuck together. In voting not to prolong a farcical Senate trial with a predetermined outcome, they refused to honor the politically motivated impeachment that House Democrats brought on a flimsy pretext. On Sunday, the Trump campaign aired ads during the Super Bowl. He advertised to a politically mixed sports crowd, but the point of the ads was not to rile up his base the way most candidates do during primary season.

"Did Democrats ever expect impeachment to turn out like this?" This should have been no surprise. Many people thought that the partisan antics were disgusting and that the articles of impeachment actually voted on were non crimes and not worthy of consideration for impeachment. Turley told them that in House testimony. None of their other witlesses could come up with a crime or even anything unethical. The worst they had was dissing the bureaucracy and they ought to give Trump a medal for that. Beyond that, they know the good economic realities. They KNOW that polls are showing that Trump's popularity was stable or rising and he was making inroads with minorities. They know that the wall IS being built, that China has come to the table, that killing Salami is recognized as a good thing, etc. There are numerous positive facts for Trump and the only negatives are the squalling of the ever more feeble and beclowned "resistance". Yet, Nasty, Schiffty, and Nadless plowed ahead with a futile and absurd effort to impeach Trump. If they didn't know how this was going to turn out, they are imbeciles. Did they do it to incite their rabid base? Their Left has been increasingly frustrated with the numerous face plants since Trump was elected. Trump not only WINS and comes out stronger but he makes his opponents look like halfwitted, and that's being generous, amateurs. They are left with Nasty Pelousy doing her impression of a teen ager throwing a hissy fit as she tore up Trump's speech.

If I were superstitious I might try to tone down my schadenfreude lest I jinx the future of this amazing presidency. Fortunately and happily, I’m not superstitious. I do hope that Nasty Pelousy et al enjoy the well deserved spanking they will receive later today. KAG!

If the dems expected their impeachment strategy was going to work, you would have thought that they would be smart enough to not announce their plans to impeach Trump before he even took office.

A decorated U.S. Air Force colonel slated to take command of the base that hosts Air Force One has been sentenced to five years in prison for receiving child pornography. Mark Visconi, 48, of Fairfax, Virginia, was jailed on Friday after he plead guilty to receipt of child pornography in October. He was also sentenced to 15 years of supervised release in a federal court in Alexandria. Visconi used the anonymous Tor network to download child pornography, according to a news release from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). A forensic review of his laptop showed he had downloaded and viewed "numerous" pictures and videos of child pornography.

Across the United States, from cities to rural counties, police departments are confronting a recruitment crisis. “Going back to 2010, we had about 4,700 online applications. That dropped down to about 1,900 last year,” said Steve Anderson, chief of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, in a Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) report last year. Seattle’s police department reported a 40 percent to 50 percent drop in applications, while Jefferson County, Colorado’s applications plummeted 70 percent. In total, 86 percent of police chiefs nationwide reported a shortage of sworn officers, with nearly half stating that the shortage had worsened over the past five years.

The frustrated head of the Democratic National Committee demanded Thursday that Iowa party officials conduct a complete recount of the botched caucus vote — as Sen. Bernie Sanders was declaring victory despite the three-days-late incomplete tally. “Enough is enough. In light of the problems that have emerged in the implementation of the delegate selection plan and in order to assure public confidence in the results, I am calling on the Iowa Democratic Party to immediately begin a recanvass,” DNC chairman Tom Perez said in a tweet.

Washington- Regarding the failed impeachment of our president, I have a few observations. The Democrats, led by the Hon. Adam B. Schiff, charged President Donald Trump with “abuse of power” and the risible charge of “obstruction of Congress.” The historically minded reader will remember these charges as being what Republicans in the 1930s and in the 1960s quite properly called the New Deal and the Great Society, respectively. They disapproved of what Franklin Roosevelt and old Beagle Ears were trying to do, but it is a fact that no one — not even Barry Goldwater — tried to impeach either president. There are numerous members of the House of Representatives and the Senate

Donald Trump served various television news personalities a lunch described by one White House guest as soup and filet of sole Tuesday—but soon the assembled anchorpeople were eating out of his hand. Much to the disappointment of folks at CNN, nobody at the long table—who included NBC’s Lester Holt and Chuck Todd, ABC’s David Muir and George Stephanopoulos, and CBS’s Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan—bothered to ask why the president had gone out of his way to exclude the cable network run by Trump’s former friend Jeff Zucker. “MSDNC isn’t here as well,” Trump quipped—to polite chuckles but zero protests

As of this writing (early afternoon on Tuesday) the results of the Iowa caucuses — the Hawkeye cauci, as Rush Limbaugh calls them — remain unknown. How in hell is that possible? Because the intellectual titans who insist that they can (if only we give them sufficiently uncontested powers of official coercion) impose expert rational “scientific” management on everything from health care to global energy markets in reality cannot organize a two-car parade in Toeterville. Our would-be managers and planners are, in fact, useless as teats on a boar hog. How incompetent are the 2020 Democrats? Incompetent enough to make the 2020 Republicans look . . .

Will Rogers famously quipped, “I’m not a member of any organized political party. I’m a Democrat.” Monday’s Iowa caucuses certainly confirmed the Democratic penchant for chaos. They also highlighted the party’s suicidal tendencies. Any doubt on this score should be cleared up by Bernie Sanders’ Iowa showing, the ulcers it is causing at the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and the glee it inspires among Republicans. For the GOP, his campaign has no downside. If Sanders is again denied the Democratic nomination due to DNC skulduggery, his supporters will stay home in November. If he captures the nomination, Trump will crush him. This view is not restricted to the GOP.

Diogenes is said to have asked what is the difference between a man and a plucked chicken since both are featherless bipeds. Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah) calls this into question again today. Romney’s vote to convict President Trump of “abuse of power” for inquiring into the flow of money from Ukraine into the pockets of the Bidens after the appearance that Vice President Joe Biden had directly intervened in Ukrainian internal affairs either to repay the favor or shield the corruption from sunlight, is among the most degraded public acts of a generation. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is commonly referred to in Washington as a master tactician. But like the partisan impeachment fiasco and the humiliating Iowa caucus disaster, her selection of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to deliver this year’s response to President Trump’s State of the Union address was a major strategic misstep. The selection of Whitmer was a politically calculated decision to introduce a relatively new name on the national scene from a state that will play a critical role in November. The irony of Whitmer’s selection, however, is that she represents exactly what is wrong with today’s Democratic Party — unrealistic promises, massive tax hikes,

DES MOINES — Maybe it was the threat of bad weather. Maybe it was a seating assignment debacle. Maybe it was a struggling campaign organization that still hadn’t found its footing. But as Joseph R. Biden Jr. spoke at a major Iowa Democratic Party dinner in November, one thing was clear: His support appeared tepid compared with the vocal cheering sections of top rivals. The reception angered Mr. Biden and his top aides — and it left little doubt about his standing, three months before the nominating process in the Democratic presidential race would begin: The former vice president was in deep trouble in Iowa.
