A trio of swing-state senators got a lot of love from their fellow Democrats after voting “guilty” on two articles of impeachment against President Trump Wednesday, as their colleagues hailed them for political courage. Immediately after their historic votes, Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.; Doug Jones, D-Ala., and Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., were rushed by fellow Democrat lawmakers who gave them hugs, pats on the back and handshakes. As the three undecided Democrats before Wednesday’s vote, and under tremendous pressure from all sides, their decision to stick with their party led to an outpouring of support.

So what if it does cost them their next election? They get health care and a pension for life and can go on to collect millions of dollars from Ukraine, China, etc. May they burn is hades.

See you later Doug and Joe, I don't expect to see you in the Senate next year. My only regret is that Rom-con, the Massachusetts grifter, isn't up for reelection.

Now can't all those who claim Manchin is a "decent" moderate democrat just stop with their fairytale dreams of him becoming a republican. While at it the same goes for that Gabbard chick. She' worse than J.F. Kerry with her phony patriotism. Proud to serve to keep the country free and all that stuff.

I was in hopes that Sinema would have enough courage and integrity to break away from the hive mentality. I never hoped that Manchin would, he is as trustworthy as a cobra. Regardless, turned out ok in the end.

Hugs from fellow Democrats do not translate into votes from constituents. They got ‘pressured’ by threats of losing re-election funds from the DNC. That is far more important than the shmucks who elected them. If they think people don’t understand this they are mistaken.

Just like those "moderates" in the House, the Senate "moderates" all got elected playing the "We're centrist and conservatives back home during election season." But the moment they cross the DC Beltway, their vote is in a lock-box with Nancy Pelosi and Chuckie Schumer holding the keys.
That's why the voters of West Virginia, Montana, Arizona, and Alabama should hold their heads in shame for electing the folks that they did in the past two years.

I had a hunch that krysten the Lesbian would do the right thing.
I was wrong.
Manchin has a sorry history in west Virginia. He wrecked west Virginia University, while governor, by appointing a kid from his staff as president of wvu. and the kid arranged for an unearned executive MBA for Manchin's daughter. The daughter is CEO of a pharmaceutical company that has the patent on epi pens. The gadget, loaded with epinephrine, costs about 5 dollars to manufacture. she jacked up the price, after a change in the law, to about 600 dollars. she is shameless, as is her dad.

As a West Virginian, I think Joe Manchin's political career was ended today. West Virginia was once a Democrat lock, but delivered Donald Trump 68.5% of the vote--the largest share of the vote in any state. Every one of the state's 55 counties went RED. Manchin has chosen to swim against the current, and I know a lot of his previous supporters have expressed that they will never vote for Joe again. As to the math, his vote was meaningless today, but Chuckie must have some embarrassing photos of Joe to keep him from bolting from the herd.

Machine and Sinema will have to face the music back home. They both pulled their masks off today and showed their constituents their slimy, lying, liberal selves.

Thanks for the info #11, I really thought he was given that he was leaning toward acquittal until Rom-con pulled his chestnuts out of the fire by providing him political cover. Too bad.

Manchin won reelection and then converted back to a party-line Democrat. I hope the W. Va. voters learn next time.

Check Manchin's voting record. There was never any doubt that he would vote with Nancy. He does about 90% of the time. The man lies a good game but he never goes against Nancy when it counts. He is almost as big a liar as Mitt,it really is time for the people of West Va to wake up to this snake.

I guess they didn't want to suddenly commit tragic and totally unexpected "suicides".
That seems to be a problem for Demon-Rats that wander off of the plantation.
No chance of being re-elected, but at least they will still be alive...

Won't move the needle... If Trump voters are still strong and have that long of a memory, Manchin will be toast in 2024 anyways. This move guarantees him a guaranteed lobbyist/power position where he can stay in DC and get even richer. It's how the game is played.
