In a brief ruling, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an October ruling from Manhattan federal court Judge George Daniels, who blocked the enforcement of the so-called “public charge” rule in a scathing opinion that called the policy “repugnant to the American Dream.”
The “public charge” rule, unveiled last year, would make it easier for the government to deny proper paperwork to immigrants who may require government assistance such as Medicaid or food stamps.

Two men in Mississippi wanted to claim a $100,000 lottery prizes so bad, they glued the winning numbers onto a losing ticket, authorities said.
Odis Latham, 47, and Russell Sparks, 48, both of Columbus, tried to claim the scratch-off winnings at the lottery headquarters in Flowood on Monday, Mississippi Lottery Corp. spokeswoman Meg Annison told the Clarion-Ledger.
The ticket was immediately determined to have been altered using glue to paste on the winnings numbers to match the prize. The lottery agency called the Flowood Police Department about two adult males allegedly trying to claim the ticket.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers noticed the woman seemed nervous after they pulled her over on Interstate 75 Tuesday for having an illegal window tint.
So nervous, in fact, that troopers summoned a drug-detecting dog, which alerted troopers that drugs were inside the car.
The result was the arrest of a Ruskin woman on a cocaine trafficking charge and the seizure of 12 kilos of the drug -- which troopers said is worth about $1.2 million.
The traffic stop was made Tuesday afternoon in Sumter County. Troopers on routine patrol saw a red 2016 Dodge Journey heading south on the Interstate and pulled the driver over because of the illegal tint.

Montana’s Glacier National Park is updating its signs to no longer predict its signature glaciers would be melted by 2020.
