Troopers find $1.2 million in cocaine in
Ruskin woman’s car after traffic stop

Florida Highway Patrol troopers noticed the woman seemed nervous after they pulled her over on Interstate 75 Tuesday for having an illegal window tint. So nervous, in fact, that troopers summoned a drug-detecting dog, which alerted troopers that drugs were inside the car. The result was the arrest of a Ruskin woman on a cocaine trafficking charge and the seizure of 12 kilos of the drug -- which troopers said is worth about $1.2 million. The traffic stop was made Tuesday afternoon in Sumter County. Troopers on routine patrol saw a red 2016 Dodge Journey heading south on the Interstate and pulled the driver over because of the illegal tint.

Good. But likely a drop in the bucket. Hunter Biden will cry himself to sleep over this loss.

For a year one of my nearest neighbors--and one of my closest neighbor friends in over three decades--was a State Trooper (Florida Highway Patrol). When I first knew him he would sometimes park his unmistakably marked State Trooper car with blue light bar in the outer parking lot. That was fine by me. Any would be criminal who saw that car parked there would go elsewhere to break the law. Before he moved south of here he was issued an unmarked car that, once you knew what was inside it, was as impressive as the marked cruiser. Maybe moreso. It is a midnight blue Dodge Charger with a 520bhp Hemi motor, cop tires, cop shocks, and the whole works. What amused me the most was that the tinting on its windows was so dark you couldn't see an inch into the car. Now there are reasons for that--mostly to hide the banks of hidden blue lights that seem to be everywhere in that car. Inside his car looks like any modern police cruiser: large computer monitor, racks for long guns, etc. It was a pleasure to get to know him. He's a good fellow who loves golf and shooting. That makes two of us.

I honestly didn't realize that Florida actually has limits on how dark the windows can be tinted.

That's a huge quantity of cocaine. Was Espinoza in the country legally and what are her ties to the cartels? Only a $34K bail?

Bail seems low considering she might be a flight risk. Twenty seven and going to jail. Years ago, it the window tint was too dark (and illegal to be added) the police gave you a blade to scrap it off before leaving. I don't see anyone in this area stopping it. Dangerous if an officer steps up to car and can't see if you have a weapon.

Does California Want to Secede? 8 replies

California certainly marches to the beat of a different drummer. They treat the federal government as a rival fiefdom, setting their own environmental laws, their own immigration laws, their own fuel standards -- as if the seat of power in the United States was in Sacramento. On Friday, Governor Gavin Newsom will present the state's budget for the next fiscal year. In it, he will propose that the state of California sell its own brand of prescription drugs in order to "increase competition in the generic drug marketplace and lower the cost of medications by having Sacramento contract drugmakers to manufacture certain prescriptions under a state label."

One day after news broke that CNN settled a defamation lawsuit on behalf of Covington Catholic teen Nick Sandmann, Robert Barnes announced he had sued author, producer, and show host Reza Aslan for Aslan's tweet describing Sandmann's face as "punchable." The lawsuit, which Barnes provided to PJ Media, would slap Aslan with a minimum of $135,000 in damages. When video of Sandmann supposedly smirking at a Native American man outside the March for Life went viral last year, Aslan infamously tweeted, "Honest question. Have you ever seen a more punchable face than this kid's?" [Tweet] Nearly exactly one year after posting the tweet, Aslan had finally deleted it on Wednesday.

The inspiringly patriotic Rep. Iran could threaten Trump hotels *worldwide* and he could provoke war over the loss of revenue from skittish guests. His business interests should not be driving military decisions.” She also tweeted a video in which the late comedian George Carlin asserts that the U.S. is “not very good at anything” besides war. LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. — “Let me out! Let me out! Ohhh! Ohhh! Ohhh!” When a Florida neighbor heard those chilling cries, the logical next step was to call 911. Four Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies pulled up and confronted a man who had his wife’s car on blocks in his driveway. In a minute, the mystery was solved. The man walked inside and returned with his parrot. A video, posted online, does not identify the individuals involved or reveal the location of the incident, except to say it occurred Dec. 29 in the Lake Worth Beach, Florida, area. In it, the parrot clearly can be heard saying “let me out” and letting out

With everyone wondering if Iran and the US will go to war it's pertinent to understand both nations are already in an undeclared conflict going back more than 40 years. "And often, it’s been a war that our political and intelligence elites have denied exists." (Snip) The obvious question is why this conflict, which has claimed thousands of lives has remained in a state of limbo and why elites are at pains to deny it exists. One possible answer is that the combatants prefer it that way. Iran for its part is heavily engaged in proxy war with Saudi Arabia in far flung theaters

Often the choice about war isn't whether or not, but sooner or later. By taking preemptive action in the form of a targeted assassination of a top Iranian general, President Trump may have pre-empted far worse conflict in the future. Of course it is a risk, but it is a well-calculated one. Pre-empting an Inevitable War with Iran Most of the great wars of the past would have been far less bloody had they begun sooner. That emphatically is true of the First World War: if Germany had launched a preemptive assault on France during the First Morocco Crisis of 1905, before Britain had signed the Entente Cordiale with France
