A classified briefing on the intelligence behind Qasem Soleimani’s killing caused Senate Republicans Mike Lee and Ron Paul to excoriate the assessment, while Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio praised the intel.Lee called the meeting “probably the worst briefing I’ve seen, at least on a military issues, in the nine years I’ve served in the United States Senate,” and while he commended Trump for showing “a lot of restraint” in foreign policy, he added that he wanted to speak to the president directly about the lack of clarity in the assessment.“I went in there hoping to get more specifics as far as the factual,

We need a testimony of a dozen or so military amputees who lost limbs or sight from the IEDs created by Soleimani.

Conservatives love to debate and it doesn't matter if they win or not. The "debate" is ALL. Liberals love to win and "govern". As to the burned up and mincemeat of what is left of the bad Iranian? He needed killin'.

It appears that Lee and others including all Democrats don't seem to understand that they have zero say in how the President conducts foreign policy -- other than withholding funding for certain things. Lee and others like him seem to think they should have a vote on the conduct of military operations, both tactical and strategic. They don't, other than funding. Lee is a pathetic GOPe

The Democrats have the Oval Office wiretapped. I am very surprised that they or Mike Lee would need a briefing.

This is the same Mike Lee who wants to take good high-tech jobs away from American citizens and give them to engineers of Indian descent. And he is making judgments on what is "un-American" behavior.
Such hypocrisy!

Steady, everyone. We need to be careful and alert. Something was off today. Lee looked manic and undisciplined, embarrassing even, as he ranted about the briefing. I’m not a Mike Lee expert or constituent but I thought he was reliably conservative and thoughtful. I’ve never before seen him act the way he did today. Think I’ll file what I saw under “Need more information.” I respect and back President Trump but I’ll watch future events unfold to see if maybe his shop has been infiltrated by arrogant swamp creatures who are showing their hand by treating conservatives like fools. All the while Lee bears close watching, too. As I said, something was definitely off.

Well if the leftist and liberal Democrats along with some Never-Trumpers ever tie the hands of the President to respond to attacks on US troops they will be assisting future enemies who intend to kill and wound US troops. Chances of that happening are almost zero when you get to the bottom line, as it would be unconstitutional, and Trump would veto anything like that if it ever hit his desk. It is ironic that the non-politician President Trump has the Democrats “outing” themselves as defenders of the Iranians and their terrorist based military agenda against US troops.

Three years of investigations have documented that the intelligence community is an enemy of the State, about which you have done NOTHING. What kind of briefing did you think you would get, Mike? Pull your head out of your a$$. The guy wore a uniform of a foreign army conducting operations against our Nation and got smoked. Is it just okay to kill enlisted in your book? Shut up and color.

Sounds like the briefing was ill-prepared, lacked detailed disclosure, and the Pentagon officers running the briefing expected the senators to go along with whatever they wanted just because they are Republicans. But Lee lost his composure just because they didn't bow and scrape before his holiness.
Rush Limbaugh is right: after half a dozen years back in Washington, these legislators lose their conservative chops and become enraged, whining liberals. Lee was expressing his inner Pelosi.

Chances are you have not seen anything yet, as if the Iranians smarten up, and when the time is right, President Trump is going to withdraw all US troops from both Iraq and Syria, as Trump has wanted to see done for many years. When that happens both political elements of the DC Swamp will fall into a period of extreme discombobulation. They might then even drum up another article of impeachment against Trump!

We recently found out that Mike Lee is quite the swamp creature in terms of accepting bribes, a er I mean “contributions” from groups that undermine good public policy. That said I had previously thought quite highly of him. As far as his disappointment with the quality and quantity of Iran info at yesterday’s very lengthy meeting, surely Lee must understand that given the dishonesty and bad faith, not to mention the extensive leaks that always come out of anything told to the Democrats, the administration cannot release many details that would result in placing Americans in the field in harm’s way not to mention the possibility of Dem leaks upending our efforts over there. I find Lee’s disregard and and lack of concern for these realities disturbing.

Actually, this is pretty accurate. I saw him being interviewed, along side Rand Paul, spouting off how the briefing was not good and felt not enough information being given. I'm confused, he's been a supporter of Trump through all the other travails. Other who were at the meeting did not come away with the same view.
