One of the most important issues for people worried about the consequences of marijuana legalization is the extent to which cannabis serves as a substitute for alcohol, which is more dangerous is several significant ways. New evidence from Canada and the United States reinforces the hypothesis that people tend to drink less when marijuana is legally available, although the issue is far from settled. During 2019, the first full year of legalization in Canada, the volume of beer sold there fell by 3 percent as of last November, the Financial Post reports.

MJ also leads to episodes of schizophrenia and you have no way of knowing if you are one of those people who are vulnerable to that, and after you have been drinking you go to sleep and you are sober in the morning; not so with MJ you are still feeling the affects and you may not even realize it until it is too late.
This experiment was tried before way back when Bill Bennett was drug czar and the results as far as auto deaths not to mention on the job accidents and deaths were a price that was paid. But you keep telling yourself that a drug that wipes out your short term memories is a good thing for anyone. And tell yourself that your kids who are going to drop 5 to 10 points in their IQ should doing this stuff while their brains are still developing. I really don't care if you want to damage your brain on this stuff but I do care that you get on the road and do not have a complete set of faculties. This is not a harmless drug, and pretending that it is is the worse thing you can do for the next generation who will be trying it at a younger and younger age because that is human nature.

Inhaling ANY foreign substance into you lungs cannot be good. Even water vapor from vaping.
Your lungs were designed to handle air alone. That is why you cough when you are exposed to smoke or dust, unless you desensitize yourself by doing it all the time. Your body doesn't want any of that stuff in the lungs.
Aside from the possible mental degradation that weed can cause, has there been any legitimate study on the effects on the respiratory system of long term regular users? I mean a true study, not a politicized one. If those even still exist anymore.

Here goes the conspiracy theory. If the government keeps legalizing MJ, they will soon have a country full of easily malleable, mush-minded zombies that are easy to control. Foreign armies will be able to walk in without a shot being fired.
On the plus side, that will leave the supply of quality bourbon up, for non smokers!

Two or three drinks in a night won't hurt you. But binge drinking can be fatal.
Also, it isn't necessary to ingest marijuana by smoking because there are edibles. Pretty sure they won't hurt your lungs.

Response about schizophrenia is most worrisome. The incidence of schizophrenia may be increased six fold by marijuana use. Not a harmless drug or past time. Not to mention, it makes you more boring and stupid.

What they dont tell you, is that weed is much higher in carcinogens than tobacco, that on people you get than 25, can permanently adversely affect cognition and other mental traits due to the brain still developing.

Damn spell check. To sum it up, there are plenty of studies out there detailing a wide range of negative effects from marijuana, but everyone in the media, ignores them.

Brilliant, both depressants turn you into a dullard. So do you want to die from heart/lung issues or liver failure?

Why is is acceptable to smoke marijuana in our society and definitely not acceptable to smoke tobacco? Why is that? The answer wouldb't be hypocrisy, would it?
