In the aftermath of the Iranian missile attack against two U.S. bases in Iraq Tuesday evening, it appeared as though there were no U.S. casualties (as of this post's publication) and both President Trump and Iranian officials were ready to deescalate the situation. But CNN was not having it.During an appearance on CNN Tonight, chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta insisted that Trump was backed into a corner, and could do nothing but push the United States closer to a major conflict with Iran. He even suggested Trump was gambling with the lives of U.S. troops. After getting teed up by host Don Lemon, Acosta chided

Let's see, CNN viewership as of Oct 2019 was about 774,000 a day, obviously not all related to Acosta. Meanwhile 63 MILLION voted for Trump. Acosta has 1% (probably much less) of the support Trump has. We care about Jimmy says WHY? The proper response should be "Jimmy who?".

Just watched Jennifer Griffin’s report, an update on what happened. The missile attack was largely ceremonial, calculated to hit Iranian TV as Soleimani was lowered into his grave. Our people had advance notice, due to interception of “chatter” from Iran, and so there were no casualties. Experts are saying that the Iranians could have hit other targets that would have resulted in more damage. But they didn’t. This was to be a one-off response to Soleimani’s death that would not cause retaliation from the U.S. Our President is very, very good at games like these...

MPs have finally given their formal backing to Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal after more than three years of bitter parliamentary wrangling over the UK’s departure from the European Union. The historic EU Withdrawal Agreement Bill cleared the Commons this afternoon - despite Labour opposition - as MPs gave the draft legislation its third reading by 330 votes to 231, a majority of 99. It is the final major Commons hurdle which the so-called WAB had to navigate and it will now head to the House of Lords next week for further scrutiny before the UK leaves the EU on January 31.
