It looks like livestock production is contributing to climate change, and we need to hit “peak meat” by 2030 to avoid an “ecological disaster.” At least, that’s the idea CBS News is touting from “scientists.” In a bizarre Dec. 12 article headlined “World must hit ‘peak meat’ by 2030 to avoid climate crisis, scientists say,” CBS News reported that “In a letter published in the Lancet Planetary Health, more than 50 scientists recommend setting 2030 as the peak year for meat consumption, after which it needs to drop dramatically.”

The British election results, like any election results, are the result of unique circumstances and multiple factors. They are also, however, a test of a widely articulated political theory that has important implications for American politics. That theory holds that Corbyn’s populist left-wing platform is both necessary and sufficient in order to defeat the rising nationalist right. Corbyn’s crushing defeat is a decisive refutation. Many writers, not only on the left, detected parallels between the rise of Corbyn and the movement around Bernie Sanders. The latter is considerably more moderate and pragmatic than the former, and also not laden with the political baggage of Corbyn’s widely derided openness to anti-Semitic allies.

Monday’s release of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s 476-page tome on the Department of Justice and FBI’s misconduct in the lead up to and aftermath of the 2016 presidential election continues to make news—and rightly so. That the DOJ and FBI obtained a surveillance order from a secret court to spy on Carter Page with a series of applications riddled with errors, fabrications, and inexcusable omissions of material fact is shocking. The shocking breadth of the government’s misconduct raises an interesting corollary question: How will Judge Emmet Sullivan react to these devastating revelations?Sullivan has been hunkered down in his chambers for the last month

The frustration and anger with politicians here are similar to what we see in the United States. People are simply fed up with the angst, vitriol and downright nastiness that is synonymous with politics today. Trustworthy is not a word often used among constituents who are now more apathetic about the outcome than ever before. It may all sound a little dreary but it’s the truth. There is no longer any honor in bi-partisanship and that means nothing gets done

Johnson, 55, delivered the Conservative Party a 161-majority in the House of Commons, thrashing the Labour Party and giving the Tories their largest margin in the British Parliament's lower chamber since Margaret Thatcher's majority of 102 in 1987.

Most major outlets had stressed that the IG had found no bias in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.
