After saturating Twitter something fierce in a quest for $1 donations over the weekend, Democratic presidential candidate Kirsten Gillibrand has finally secured herself a spot on the Democratic Party's debate stage in June, bringing up the rear.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill into law that allows kids to run lemonade stands without being in fear of being shut down. The law goes into effect in September and prohibits cities and neighborhood associations from implementing rules that block or regulate children trying to sell nonalcoholic drinks such as lemonade on private property, according to the Texas Tribune. Republican state Rep. Matt Krause introduced the bill after police shut down a lemonade stand that was run by two daughters trying to raise money for a Father's Day gift in 2015. VISTA, Calif. – A judge declared a mistrial Tuesday on the remaining charges in Kellen Winslow II's rape trial, a day after a jury returned three convictions that could send the former NFL star to prison for up to nine years.
San Diego County Superior Court Judge Blaine Bowman said the jurors were “hopelessly deadlocked” as he announced the mistrial. By varying counts, the jury favored conviction on the eight remaining charges but could not agree unanimously as required by California law.
A retrial on those eight charges is expected later this year.

America’s tech giants have most certainly engaged in abusive practices. Demands that Washington break them up seem to grow by the day. Many of them are from brilliant people we respect and almost always agree with.
That doesn’t make them right, though.
Google, Facebook, Amazon, and others have just become too powerful, says the narrative. And it’s not just the political right, which is justified in being upset at Big Tech’s efforts to marginalize and silence it, that wants to use the nearly limitless power of the federal government to tame private businesses.
The Democrat-led House has been notoriously do-nothing about anything other than attempting to impeach President Trump. No budget, no promised infrastructure bills, no health care reforms, not even an explicit condemnation of anti-Semitism, and shamed by socialist-led Mexico for doing zero about a massive migrant surge pouring over our southern border. Actually, on that front, less than zero, given that they passed a bill to incentivize additional illegal immigration. A real bright bunch, and quite likely to be thrown out come 2020, given such a record reflected in their 20% approval rating.

The New York Times will no longer be publishing political cartoons following the uproar surrounding an anti-Semitic depiction of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a political cartoonist whose work was featured in the paper.
In April, The New York Times International published a cartoon featuring Netanyahu as a guide dog and wearing a Star of David around his neck being walked by President Trump seen wearing a yarmulke. After putting out a statement admitting the cartoon had "anti-Semitic tropes" and was an "error in judgment," the paper issued an apology. The cartoon received widespread condemnation, including from its own editorial board, which called it "obviously bigoted"
Reince Priebus, President Trump’s former chief of staff, has officially joined the Navy.
At a commissioning ceremony Monday morning, Vice President Pence swore in Priebus as an ensign, an entry-level officer. Priebus and his family also met with Trump at the White House after the ceremony.
Among those present for the ceremony were Sen. Judge Michael Stelzer had already granted Planned Parenthood a temporary reprieve on May 31 that blocked state officials from shuttering a St. Louis clinic the day its license to perform the procedure was set to lapse.
Michigan Repubican Rep. Justin Amash announced Monday evening he was leaving the influential conservative House Freedom Caucus, just weeks after he attracted the ire of his colleagues by arguing in Twitter posts that President Trump had committed impeachable offenses, Fox News has learned.
Amash, speaking at a Freedom Caucus board meeting, insisted his departure was voluntary. Amash said he did not want to continue to be a "further distraction" for the caucus, which is chaired by North Carolina GOP Rep. Mark Meadows.
