It was supposed to be a made-for-TV moment for House Democrats: former Richard Nixon counsel and Watergate icon John Dean testifying before lawmakers in the Judiciary Committee’s first hearing solely devoted to the substance of Robert Mueller’s findings on whether President Trump obstructed the Russia investigation.
After the four-hour hearing wrapped on Monday, though, not all Democrats were reveling in the testimony of Watergate’s star witness. Some were even wondering if anyone had bothered to watch. “I don’t know if there were any blockbuster events today,” conceded Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), a Judiciary member. “It was kind of like a plotting exercise.”

Everything wrong with this exercise is expressed in the headline. Democrats worry that this didnt do THEM any good.
For the record. Elected officials are supposed to do what's right for the country. NOT, what's good for the party. The statements by the democrats tell us exactly where their priorities lie, and it's not with "We the People".

Havent had the chance to watch yet, but heard that Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan had a LOT of fun with this clown.

NOBODY cares about Mueller or anything related to it anymore.
It was POLITICAL B S
The Dems are falling -over-themselves scared of what Barr is about to expose and PLEASE let the scaredest ones staring with PIAPS go to prison longly.

When was the last time that the dems did ANYTHING that did them any good? Trump has them running in circles chasing their own tails. It sure can be entertaining but it doesn't accomplish anything. Each failure/embarrassment knocks them further behind. Then they get more strident with even less to back them up.
In this instance they cast back 45 years to talk to one of the most corrupt participants of the Watergate fiasco who paid no price because he agreed to give them Nixon in exchange for his freedom. Dean never had anything on Nixon, just an opinion that Nixon MUST have known. Nixon resigned rather than drag the Country through a mess, otherwise Dean would have been exposed as a fraud. Since then Dean has made a career of Watergate, pretending he is one of the "good guys". He wasn't. He was more like Cohen to Trump. Guilty of his own crimes. But Cohen had nothing to trade on Trump and Trump is nothing like Nixon in temperment, instead willing to fight like a wolverine. Cohen is in jail like Dean should have been. Inviting Dean to appear was a farce. They would have done better with another box of chicken, or maybe roasted weasel.

Anyone else notice that comment by the Rep from R.I.? That Dean serves to "bring the (Mueller) report to life". Desperation, or maybe delusion, or ...

One word describes these hearings. Circus. I see the desperation of the democrats. Wait till AG Barr's investigation comes to light, they will be in the panic mode.

During Dean's time in the witness chair in 1973-74, republicans spread a rumor that Dean's wife was a hooker.
If that is true, he is a bigger prostitute than his wife.

Why couldn't they get Weissman to testify? He's the SOB who wrote the report.

He did them a lot of good.
It is now obvious that the Dems can only repeat playbooks from the long-ago.
Nothing new here.
Besides the fact that Dean ordered the Watergate break in, being concerned that his wife Maureen was in the little book of hostesses of the Dems, and then arranged the bribery, is irrelevant.
Remember: you cannot legislate against stupidity.

This came across like a childish political stunt and everyone saw it for what it was. Nadler is turning the House into a clown show and meanwhile the freshman know it all's are making the whole Party look like the loons they have always been. And now not just loons but extremely stupid and completely tone deaf to what the country is really thinking. It's kind of fascinating to watch.

Frustrated hate-filled Dems led by Nadler have neither the basis nor the guts to do real impeachment so they give us an imitation of impeachment, dragging in an irrelevant relic like John Dean to bolster their slander. So it's the umpteenth Dem smear job since that huge election night that shocked them all out of their sanity. The steady rise in Trump popularity numbers belies the folly of their attempt.

In terms of new ideas, the Dims have been out of gas a long time. They just can't come up with anything new anymore - they just run re-runs all the time.
In history, ruling groups like the Dims sometimes just ossify. Then the opposition becomes too great, they snap, and are replaced by a more vigorous group, like us.
